It might be as simple as Wigan have told him that he immediately becomes their main striker and Sunderland have said that he will have to fight with Simms and Stewart.

Being 24 with very few games under his belt it might just be that he just thinks he will get more games at Wigan.

It could be even simpler that Wigan are willing to pay him what he wants and we aren't.

I will be disappointed if we dont get Broadhead back. I thought he was exceptional at times. The lad is a real talent and has things our other 2 front men dont. Hope it isnt the other lad linked today instead!

I like Broadhead. But it's always about ££££££s. If they are offering more he might be tempted to take it, but it could be a bit short sighted.

He'll be going to a mob who couldn't pay their wages for two months in the summer.

my memory is pants, did simms not arrive around the same time that bob posted the apparent deadline for broadhead?

i could be miles off of course but i am getting the impression that this club does not mess around any more, i think they offered him a good deal for a championship player who is unproven at this level and also needs to prove his injuries were one of those 'one off' seasons and either him or his agent has been trying to squeeze a little more out of the club...if he does go to wigan you can almost guarantee they have offered way more than we would (similar to wyke) and with so many strikers/attackers on their books anyway it will upset a few.

i honestly have no idea why as i really have no dislike for wigan for any reason but i hope, if they do get him, that they get pretty much the same 'service' as they got from wyke, they need to realise that throwing money towards players is not the way.

doubt it’s money. It will be assurances over how much game time he gets. And Everton will have as much say over that as he does (if not more)

Broadheads a great player but I’d rather have Simms so if that was the choice I’m happy.

good luck to him, deserves a break after so long stagnant at Everton

No player should ever recieve certain assurances of games and I doubt many really do. It has the opposite effect of that intended. The player can coast instead of fight.

Signing Simms was a great bit of business, looks tougher than Broadhead and more easily playable with Stewart ...

... this won't be a popular post but I'd say he's already a better striker than LND.

Pritchard will love having them both in the team.
It’s kinda what I’ve been saying tbh mate everyone going on like strikers won’t sign because lnd is always Gona be first choice! After one game you could argue simms is better!

that’s in no way a dig at lnd as I think he’s class but people went a bit Ott imo.

yes but Everton will be the ones wanting the assurances as much as him. They need to protect their investment
