Broadhead will sign.

I know he’s had a couple of injuries but with Stewart and Simms, we won’t have to rely on him as much.

The lad is absolute quality for me.
…and the rest. He might be quality but he’s hardly ever fit, unreliable.

He’s clearly not gona get a game for Everton so you’d think he would be more realistic
Just wondering why Everton would loan 2 strikers to the same club who already have a main striker( stewart) they will be in direct competition with each other for game time

Everton, it seems have something of a Striker problem themselves, at the moment.

We might have a problem hanging on to the one we have on loan from them.
How? At very worst they may have a Jan recall option but it’s unlikely.

In fact, I’m not even sure that clause is allowed in Prem loans.

Didn’t Neil allude to the fact that his issues were psychological?

If that’s the case, then it’s something that can be worked on.

A bit of creative accounting and raising money by selling off their TV rights (Spanish clubs negotiate separate deals, rather than the league negotiating the rights) and by selling off a share in their merchandise licensing.

This is all true and they have sold their tv rights for the next 25 years. Their problems will only get bigger in a few years time when the money has gone and they have nothing left to sell sxcept the players they have. Martin Braithwaite has refused to leave Barca until they pay up his contract plus the money they owe him it is the same with Frenkie de Jong. Barca are asking them to basically take no money and leave for the good of the club and then not pay them what they are owed (they took pay cuts during covid which was meant to be repaid as well) then Barca go on a spending spree but do not pay existing players what they are owed. This from a club and league that wanted Man City and the Premier league investigating for financial mis management the whole situation stinks and they should be held accountable.

Clark-harris please and up to the prem we go.

Not this again, we had three goals from our two up front yesterday!

As others have said we need a different forward man to add to the two we already have. Who on yesterday's showing Simms is definitely up for it and going to cause problems at this level and Stewart has shown little flashes but hasn't quite got going yet don't think we need to be worried he has it in him imo.

Where the affairs of SAFC are concerned, long experience has turned me into a pesimist.

So, if I don't KNOW what the terms of his loan might be, I ASSUME the worst.
I do recall though that a few years ago we recalled Jordan Pickford from his loan to Preston NE, when We were the Prem Team, but that was in January.

If it werent for this unreliable lad we would still be in L1.
Broadhead promoted us on his own, did he? <laugh> Be serious, please. Came on for the last few minutes of the PO final and could barely move man.

No but he did score the goals in the last few games of the season that meant we made the playoffs. Not sure why you've got an anti-broadhead agenda but don't let it get in the way of facts

That definitely isn’t the case. I think he’s a good player who can play in different forward positions, I just don’t trust him to play enough games over a full season. I’d love him to sign and be available for 35+ games, I just can’t see it happening currently.

I think they are taking a big gamble with their current approach as it could easily compound their financial problems.

Overall, I am a fan of the Barcelona model of ownership. The socios system is really how all football clubs should be run, otherwise they're not really clubs. The flaw in the model is that it seems that the presidency often goes to egotists who will do anything to cling on to power, such as willingly placing the club in financial jeopardy.

Despite my admiration for them, they have been doing increasingly odd things recently. The flogging of the rights to fund massive transfers is just one of them. You mentioned Braithwaite and that's another one of them. A player not really of their calibre signed as cover and put on a massive contract. While I agree that contracts should be honoured, Braithwaite is wealthy outside of football through his real estate interests in the States and could surely come to some agreement to help out an historic institution. My sympathy for him is limited.

I would take no pleasure from seeing Barcelona disappear but I do think that what is happening with them currently is yet another indicator that finances in football need to be more closely controlled.

It was frustrating his injuries last season but he still played 29 games last year. I think we rushed him back after his 2nd injury and that caused a further strain which meant he missed out towards the end of the season.

I hope he comes in and his movement & finishing is quality

Also not so sure where this injury prone tag has come from, yes he was out twice with injuries last season but he played a full season for Everton u23s not sure what his injury record was like before that but lots of players will have a season like he had, players coming back from injury are obviously cautious which can lead to more injuries, also just look at DW when he was here everyone said he was made of glass seems working with the right medical team can do wonders

We should also remember that he cought Covid, and this sidelined him for a while.
