Decent article on the BBC about how they're doing it.

It doesn't mention the part about them ripping off their own players by asking them to restructure their contract and then trying to force them out of the club so they never have to pay it.

They're not learning lessons. They think they're "too big to fail" and they're gambling to get what they're "entitled" to.

What annoys me most about them is their hypocrisy. They've marketed themselves as the moral giant club for decades, but when it comes down to it, they've sold their soul to Qatar and US Hedge funds.

edit: It does briefly touch on the wage issue but talks of "finding an agreement" rather than paying people what they're owed.
