This is good to hear, there’s a lot of talk on Twitter to say we lack urgency and efficiency behind the scenes but we just can’t say that at all without actually knowing what’s going on behind the scenes !

if i ever hit that point that i start to get worried i just remember how there were many last season going ape-sh1t because we had not signed lots of players, despite the likes of wigan and ipswich seemingly grabbing anyone going yet pound for pound and man for man we did far better business and wigan did us a favour taking our rejects (they also failed to beat us) so i just relax and tell myself the club now know exactly what they are doing and exactly who they want/need.

Or just think back to De-Fanti doing load business early, getting those deals done quickly for (****e) players so we could getting going & hit the ground running.....that went well!!!

Totally agree mate...anyone can get deals done for lesser players....we wont progress doing that...we need the right players & although we want to see scarfs held up & news of were after x players....the club is the most professional I have seen in my time following them, yes bits come out, impossible not to but generally its happening without anyonr knowing, targetting young hungry players....& what stands out for me already is in a short period of time KLD have transformed this club as a one the right young playwrs are looking at to come to knowing they will have a good chance of developing.

Take that thought to a year ago & compare it with SDs approach.....he couldnt wait to strike a deal for kids to leave & they could wait to be out of here.

In a year, that is huge progress.....lets keep it going....not been so excited following the lads for a long time & know KLDs team will get it right

Good post.

We do need to complete the deals now though. We don't want to be pissing away games with a squad that's light in key areas.

We are one bad tackle away from not having a strike force!

It would be foolish just to bring someone in as a make weight, but it may be even more foolish to start what is going to be a tough season (imho) flourishing in the championship without some key players in for the seasons early games.

Yeah it's a race game now. I mean, we have done ok and brought in some quality. There are lots of teams in the championship who have done nowt or close to nowt. There isn't much cash floating about and everyone is after PL loans etc.

Time to close on the deals we are close with.

Are you able to say which position they are? No issues if not

I posted before Wembley that I'd been told we would, if promoted, go for five PL players including loans. I don't recall where that currently stands but it seems to be going in he right direction. From what I've seen we're not scared of spending and paying wages for the right player. I'd guess we're now at a stage whereby someone like Diamond/O'Nien will be sold if our targets sign. Bringing Ballard in didn't necessitate a departure but we couldn't lose O'Nien unless we have an upgrade. I'd prefer Broadhead, than a 'stranger' as he's obviously comfortable with the other players.

But we definitely need a couple of good quality players in goal and up front imo.

Just been reading about Man City's Liam Delap being available for a loan. Now that would get me excited if we got him.

I assume he would be going to a premier league club on loan as they are knocking back big offers to sell to Premier league clubs (according to papers)

Whilst I agree with this, the window is into the season. We can not give up games. I want more activity and more deals done. I know we are close but , we can not leave it. This team needs help.
I disagree with this, I think we can give up games to make sure we get the right players in.

I'd far rather we got the very best we can on 31st August, even if it's to the detriment of the first month of the season's results, than I would see us giving up and going for secondary targets just so they're in for next Sunday.

It's one month's sacrifice for potentially three or four years' benefit and a subsequent windfall. It's a long season and there's no need to forsake our strategy for a bit of short termism!
