This, we’ve shown with Clarke and Ballard we will pay good money if they are worth it
Exactly. 2 massive signings those that both command a significant investment.

Have you heard of any other deals that may be close?Exactly. 2 massive signings those that both command a significant investment.
One a keeper and one striker and one left backWe will bring in 3 more that's it, 2 on loan and 1 perm signing.
1 is a striker, the others not found out yet.
So proper signingsExactly. 2 massive signings those that both command a significant investment.
Good post mate. Like you say a few players can cover other positions but it give a great picture of the balance of the squad.Would agree. Currently the squad looks light in a few areas:

I know the likes of Gooch and O'Nien can cover a few positions but I'd be looking for a keeper, left back, centre half and a striker as a bare minimum
Bit like last season, I'd be nervous if we were playing COventry tomorrow, we are only a couple of injuries away from having to play the kids but am sure the club knows what they are doing - our recruitments since KLD came in has been largely sound:Good post mate. Would be interesting to see that table updated at the end of the transfer window
I think Hume, Ballard and either O9/Neil will be starters in that teamBit like last season, I'd be nervous if we were playing COventry tomorrow, we are only a couple of injuries away from having to play the kids but am sure the club knows what they are doing - our recruitments since KLD came in has been largely sound:
Winchester
Stewart
Vokins (loan)
Jones (loan)
Cirkin
Pritchard
Huggins
Hume
Doye (loan)
Evans
Alves (loan)
Broadhead (loan)
Dajaku
Hoffmann (loan)
Batth
Roberts
Defoe
Matete
Clarke
Ballard*
Probably only the 4 highlighted players that were failures and only 1 of them was a permanent signing, even then it was a short term deal.
*Obviously haven't seen Ballard in action yet but the signs are good
If we kicked off tomorrow:
Patterson
Winchester Batth Wright Cirkin
Evans Matete
Roberts Pritchard Clarke
Stewart
Subs: Carney, Ballard, Hume, Matete, Neil, Embleton, Dajaku, Gooch, Diamond
Not a great deal of cover at the back or up front from the bench, but a reasonable first XI
Hopefully your right mate , the little we did see of him he didn't do anything wrong so hopefully he kicks on this seasonI think a lot of that is down to
Finding the system that worked at at the time. With no time to work with the players he has to go in and get it right for what was needed. Now he’s had time to
Work before a season with no current “ship to steady” things may be different. Just speculating mind
You can say that againApparently after Parrott from Tottenham on,loan…
Apparently after Parrott from Tottenham on loan…
I’ll get me coat
He has played almost as much as Huggins this season if not more.
You get your coat and mine while you’re at it!You can say that again
Huggins came up through the typical academy route and looked very polished when I saw him against Wigan.I thought Huggins was excellent in the games he played. Every bit as good as Cirkin. Hume looked good going forward, but was caught out a few times defensively. I don't dislike the lad, but it would worry me if he was our 1st choice right back. Think he just needs time to develop.

If this how it pans out, then my view would be 2 strikers and a goalkeeperWe will bring in 3 more that's it, 2 on loan and 1 perm signing.
