Exactly. 2 massive signings those that both command a significant investment.

Good post mate. Like you say a few players can cover other positions but it give a great picture of the balance of the squad.
Would be interesting to see that table updated at the end of the transfer window

Bit like last season, I'd be nervous if we were playing COventry tomorrow, we are only a couple of injuries away from having to play the kids but am sure the club knows what they are doing - our recruitments since KLD came in has been largely sound:

    Winchester
    Stewart
    Vokins (loan)
    Jones (loan)
    Cirkin
    Pritchard
    Huggins
    Hume
    Doye (loan)
    Evans
    Alves (loan)
    Broadhead (loan)
    Dajaku
    Hoffmann (loan)
    Batth
    Roberts
    Defoe
    Matete
    Clarke
    Ballard*

Probably only the 4 highlighted players that were failures and only 1 of them was a permanent signing, even then it was a short term deal.

*Obviously haven't seen Ballard in action yet but the signs are good

    If we kicked off tomorrow:

    Patterson
    Winchester Batth Wright Cirkin
    Evans Matete
    Roberts Pritchard Clarke
    Stewart

Subs: Carney, Ballard, Hume, Matete, Neil, Embleton, Dajaku, Gooch, Diamond

Not a great deal of cover at the back or up front from the bench, but a reasonable first XI

I think Hume, Ballard and either O9/Neil will be starters in that team

Had covid for the last week or so, looking after a 12 month old. Pop onto the board to read headlines but cannot read through this thread to keep up.

Seems ****ing bizarre toethat every single thing seems to get turned into a megathread nowadays.

    Have we signed anyone?

I thought Huggins was excellent in the games he played. Every bit as good as Cirkin. Hume looked good going forward, but was caught out a few times defensively. I don't dislike the lad, but it would worry me if he was our 1st choice right back. Think he just needs time to develop.

Huggins came up through the typical academy route and looked very polished when I saw him against Wigan.
real shame he got injured. Doesn't sound like he will be back any time soon unfortunately .
However Trai Hume is a really interesting one for me. He's came through youth football in Ireland and after an early loan straight into
Linfields team. I suspect He'll be a bit more rough around the edges but he's played a couple of seasons of mens football and managers seem to really rate him. Seems like he's a very fast learner. Every manager has fast tracked him. David Healy loved him Ian Baraclough has tried him in the first team at NI.
My gut feeling is he should go out on loan but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the team this year.
Might get an indication in the next few friendlies.

If this how it pans out, then my view would be 2 strikers and a goalkeeper
