Understood mara....But he has bags of ability, and depending on his attitude, I reckon he could be a plus.
Not for me I am afraid. I am not sure what he would have to offer us. He isnt past it like Defoe was, but I dont see him fitting in this squad we are building. He couldnt play the role Stewart plays, nor the one Broadhead did. He may play from the left but that is a high energy, high pace role under Neil. I cant really see us taking him, even on a free, and I reckon Speakman will be wary after his Defoe experience.
Agree on all counts. Borini was great for us when he was on loan, but was horrific when he signed permanently. He was a disgrace in the relegation season.I'm not even on the fence with Borini. I am so far beyond the fence its untrue. I'm not even in the garden. I'm hiding in the cellar.
I think he'd be a terrible signing. And signing him "because we have no cover for Stewart and we might not get Clarke" when there are TWO MONTHS of the transfer window left is a ridiculous argument.
Availability isn't an attribute. There are lots of "available" players. I'd like to think we spend a fair amount of time trying to make unavailable ones more available.

Only for the second season after perm signing, he was good under Sam, was key player for himAgree on all counts. Borini was great for us when he was on loan, but was horrific when he signed permanently. He was a disgrace in the relegation season.
spot on. I’m sick of those players that they say “he’s going to make a good player” over and over. And still say it when they’re 29!! Had potential to be a top player but, once he had his contract, turned to ****.every where he goes he barely plays. its absolutely nuts that we are still the club he has played the most games for by quite some margin. and he was barely here 5 mins
he's been surviving off his reputation as having high potential forever.
Hmm I am sitting on the fence on this one!
Never a prolific scorer, more of a winger..
If I am honest, rather have Clarke.
Good point...Only for the second season after perm signing, he was good under Sam, was key player for him
Probably not, but then again their current number 10s had really awful seasons. It was only really De Gea & Ronaldo that could claim to have had a good season.Eriksen to Man Utd according to SSN
Do Man Utd really need another No.10?
Not entirely sure BSA trusted him, often playing N'Doye ahead of him. Seem to remember a last min equaliser when Borini celebrated in BSA's faceOnly for the second season after perm signing, he was good under Sam, was key player for him
I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere that the club aren't interested,Fabio Borini would be a terrible signing for us, but a great one for him for obvious reasons, and being 31 he's bound to look at opportunities towards the end of his career so I can't blame him (his agent) for trying.
He's (probably well) past his best and he'd be far too slow (and old) for the S.A.F.C. style, and his experience wouldn't help 'cos he wouldn't be able to contribute where it matters and lead by example, so it's definitely a 'no' from me![]()
He plays on the left but can also play wing back which would help if Cirkin is injured as we’ve nobody to cover him as of yet either with Huggins never fit and probably the first choice right back when he is fit. Managed 9 goals in 19 starts season before last from the wing so defo still has an eye for it. I’d prefer to have a smaller striker on the bench to throw on and go more direct with a runner off Stewart if we’re struggling to get into a game second half tbh but whether or not that’s Borini is another question. Agree with him not really fitting the profile but we have a very young squad and some experience wouldn’t go amiss IMO.
