Hate to be a doom merchant but I just can't see any signings announced today, what with the game, and the fact we are always slow at announcements.
I just think they'll batch them all up for tomorrow.

I still have positive feelings about Van Hecke. Think his unused sub appearance last night will have been the last thing for him. I imagine he's arriving at the training ground at Brighton soon to be told to come up to us. Please

I think short term, it might be Gooch there. Hume will make it his own in the next few months though I think.
Be interesting to see how Gooch fares under TM as I would say AN got the most out of him during his time with us.
Suppose it depends on what position TM sees him in ( if any).
Downes available for loan doesn't make a lot of sense to me. West Ham have just signed him and they have plenty of games this season with European football. He'll get minutes for them.

Moyes was asked why he hasn't appeared for them yet, despite having signed for £12m, or whatever it was, and he responded by saying that he was nowhere near ready for the first team (or words to that effect). That could mean anything, of course, but it might be that they want him to go somewhere to get minutes.
Would be an excellent signing all round midfielder still young but loads of experience at this level
