I liked Clarke a lot, who didn't?

He seemed to just grow up that night at Hillsborough. Just as impressive for me was his reaction to being left out of the final. He must have been surprised and disappointed. But he came on with a bang and caused all the trouble we were looking for, causing nightmares for Wycombe.

Hopefully he signs here. Just the type of deal we should be looking at.

Great to see things working well. We sign some players on loan or on short term deals, it works out then we get them permanently/for longer. Speakman got some flak following January and the defence was maybe a gamble but since he's been here, on the incomings I'd say we've had more hits than misses.
It should get better if you think the scouting and data analysis were starting from scratch near enough

Ally Gold says the initial fee for Clarke will be low but add-ons can take it to £10m.

We only paid £10m anyway so if he did reach even a few of those add-ons we’ll make a decent bit of it a back.

Shame it never worked out for him, I still think there’s a decent player in there and hopefully he can start fulfilling his potential with Sunderland.

Raised on a diet of decades of Spurs mediocrity, the arrival of Martin Jol and some semblance of Lilywhite excitement sparked Alasdair into writing about the club and he hasn't stopped since. Once asked Mauricio Pochettino if he liked Erik Lamela's nutmeg. Pochettino wasn't impressed.

Only 1 year left on his deal at Spurs I think. I can see it being permanent and us paying a decent fee. Unless he signs again at Spurs and comes on loan, but I cant see that really. Spurs will want money in I think and wages gone. Might have a lower fee and heft sell on %.
He was left out of the Spurs squads and told to train on his own. .
