He was a decent defender. But he was poor alongside anyone except O’Nien. He tried in different defensive set ups and we failed. Agree him and O’Nien were our best pair but Sanderson was poor in games outside that imo.

be a boring world if we all had the same opinions. As I said, I think he’ll be an OK championship player and is a bit better than league 1. But I wouldn’t play him ahead of any of our defence which finished last season
Hope you are right mate. I have reservations about Bailey Wright next season, but he certainly proved me wrong under Alex Neil. Once he cut out playing thoss hollywood passes (which went nowhere 90% of the time) and kept it simple he was much better. I hope Ballard has pace as it is important at centre half in higher divisions.

Yes i agree about Wright. Although he looked much improved he still has a mistake in his locker like what we saw against Sheff Wed when he lost concentration and gave them a clear cut chance and Patto had to come dashing off his line to save him

It’s quiet innit

Yes. I'm not bothered by it at all. But I dont buy in to the "no news is good news" way of thinking. I don't for one second doubt that the club aren't going about trying to get the right players at the right price. It is what it is and I love the approach.

Still, its strange how little rumour there even is.

It was Wycombe in the final but I watched that bounce like a tennis ball on concrete. He didn’t, IMO, do anything wrong as I reckon that would’ve caused a problem for top flight defenders
Marcus
Nice to see someone actually telling it as it was over that incident in the final.
He hardly put a foot wrong since AN took over yet fans still like to find a negative about the lad.
I sometimes wonder what fans expect from our players in League One, I for one think he's got what it takes to be a success in the Championship, but perhaps I'm in a minority.

I like Bailey Wright and think he’s a solid enough defender for this level but let’s not pretend he doesn’t have a mistake in him. That incident in the final was due to not reading the ball. It doesn’t bounce over him if he doesn’t let it bounce.
That’s why he’s at the level he’s at though and he’s good enough and has the experience to be important in this season’s squad

Im sure there was an incident against Sheff Wed aswell then :emoticon-0138-think.
Thats by the by now, im glad he's signed a new deal he just worries me abit sometimes though. In an ideal world id love to see another good Championship experienced CB come in.

Wish I lived in Fenham and hung a 75in blaupunkt tele on me 80in living room wall so I could think I’m upper class of anyone from this side of the river

Cant agree with that mate. Top flight defenders dont do that. He misread the flight for me and got caught out badly. The old adage in football is dont let it bounce.

I am not anti Wright and like I said under Neil he was very good. I think he is a more than good enough squad lad and it is up to him to earn his spot. He has captained in the championship before so he is just as likely to do it than not. Pace would be my worry about him and Baath together.

You are right Tees, late on second half at 1-0 from the right full back position Bailey Wright passed it across the edge of the box straight to a Sheff Wed Player.
I still think he was instrumental in our promotion but as a centre back your mistakes are much more obvious that further up the field.

Thankyou for clearing that up mate.
