Perhaps another late bloomer like Charlie & Vardy?

If Millwall miss out on promotion, he would definitely be worth a punt and might join us?

He definitely seems to know where the back of the net is.

GOAL-DEN TIME ... Lee Gregory celebrates his goal for Millwall in the win over Burton at The Den on Monday Reuters

By RICHARD HARVEY

NO ONE in the top four tiers of English football has scored more league goals than Millwall striker Lee Gregory in 2016.

Not even his mate and former strike partner – Jamie Vardy – can beat the 12 Gregory has bagged.

Gregory took his tally to 23 in all competitions this season after scoring the second goal in the 2-0 win over League One leaders Burton at The Den on Monday.

Millwall's Lee Gregory played with England star Jamie Vardy
He has now scored three times his last five games to ensure the fifth-placed Lions stay well in the hunt for the play-offs.

And who’s to say that sort of form in front of goal won’t see Gregory follow Vardy from Non-League to Premier League?

He’s already following in Vardy’s footsteps – both played in the fifth tier, the Football Conference, for FC Halifax – and they did it together.

Gregory, 27, played with the now England hot-shot for a season before Vardy moved on to Fleetwood Town before Leicester City came calling.

But the Sheffield-born Gregory’s own scoring exploits were not about to go unnoticed.

HOT-SHOT ... Millwall striker Lee Gregory News Group Newspapers Ltd
He joined Millwall in June 2014 after scoring 35 times in 39 games for Halifax.

Gregory didn’t set the world on fire in his first season at The Den, scoring nine times in 41 appearances.

Now he’s found his feet and maybe his name is now on the radar of, well, who knows?

I'm not saying the lad wouldn't be a success but we dipped our toes into the League One striker market quite recently. To date, our acquisition hasn't scored one single goal since January.

Worth noting that Millwall play 4-4-2 with Morrison and Gregory playing the classic big man / little man partnership upfront and they combine superbly. There's a lot more to a striker's game than just buying someone who's scored a few goals. Millwall Manager Neil Harris was Morrison's strike partner a few years back so they'll be coached with inside knowledge...

The question is, can we afford him?
There will without doubt be a posse of championship clubs as well as newly promoted Prem clubs with plenty of cash to slap about, and all we can do is watch

He will be for the championship and is exactly what we need. Looks like he can play as target man or one of a front two. We don't have the money though. Also reminds me a bit of Chris Martin.

According to Spanish news outlet El Desmarque, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers are targeting Celta Vigo defender Sergi Gomez.

It was revealed by the President of Celta Vigo Carlos Mouriño that they had received a bid in the region of six million Euros by a Championship side.

The two Championship sides that have been associated with making a move for Sergi Gomez are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

El Desmarque are suggesting that the two sides are negotiating with Gomez’s entourage about a potential move in the summer.

One potential promising sign for both Fulham and Queens Park Rangers is that Sergi Gomez is a close friend of Marc Muniesa, the former Barcelona defender who is currently at Stoke City has spoken glowingly of British football.

As Sergi Gomez has a release clause in his contract, it may be a question of if Fulham or Queens Park Rangers are willing to activate the release clause

6 million euros will mean it's not us. I doubt we will spend half that amount this Summer in total transfers.

Unless we generate funds by getting fees for the likes of Fer, Sandro, Phillips & possibly Caulker I can't see us having much of a transfer kitty at all.

Wasn't this exact same story floated last year - right down to the President saying that they had received a bid.

It was all bollocks then ... can't see how things have changed.

According to an exclusive report by the News Shopper, Charlton attacker Tony Watt is being pursued by Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, and Queens Park Rangers.

Following Charlton’s relegation and the uncertainty about management at the club, the likelihood that the South London side will be able to keep hold of their star players is looking unlikely.

As well as interest in twenty-four-year-old goalkeeper Nick Pope, it has emerged that Charlton striker Tony Watt is subject to a lot of interest.

The former Celtic and Standard Liege striker has spent loan spells at fellow Championship sides Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers and Charlton will have their resolve tested if they are to keep Watt at the club.

The Scot has been linked with a move back above the border, however, it has been suggested that Watt would rather stay in England which has alerted the attention of Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, and Queens Park Rangers.

There is no doubt that Tony Watt is supremely talented and whichever Championship side acquires the services of the Scot will have secured a real coup.
