If QPR target goes, we'll move onto polishing the next gem, says Wycombe Wanderers veteran

Confident: Matt Bloomfield
Matt Bloomfield is confident Wycombe Wanderers will replace any key players they lose this summer with more unpolished gems.
Wycombe have been a stepping stone to bigger things many a time in Bloomfield's 13 years at the club, and the latest to be linked with a move away is Aaron Pierre, who had reportedly attracted the interest of QPR.
And while Blooms, who recently signed a new one-year deal at Adams Park, would be sad to see the likes of Pierre go, he takes solace in Wycombe's track record for bringing through more young talent, even without a youth set-up.
Stepping up in the world: Matt Ingram, Nathan Tyson and Matty Phillips
He said: “I'm sure the manager and chairman will make the right decision. I've seen it happen many a time since I've been here, from Nathan Tyson to Matty Phillips, right through to Matt Ingram this season.
“I'm sure we will do everything we can to keep Aaron as he's been a vital cog in our successful defensive unit, but every player has his price, and if it's one we can't turn down, that's something we have to accept as a League Two club.
“I'd be delighted for the clubs if Aaron stays, and I'll be delight for Aaron if he goes. What will be will be. The good thing is we always seem to have good young players coming though, the down side is you always get the speculation.
In demand: Aaron Pierre
“It's disappointing at the time when they leave, but we always find good replacements. Having saleable assets has played a part in our survival, and we scout extensively to find gems we can nurture. Whoever moves on, the club will still be there.”
