Definitely need Bailey Wright to add a bit experience to the back line, imo he's a quality defender in L1. Also LJ has him in his 'leadership group' so he must see him as an integral part at least.

We have the forgotten man... who has been out injured for a year (insurance cover?) Any news as to when might play

Which is an important point to consider - for too many years we've sacked managers mid-season and are left with a squad full of players the new man doesn't want. It's time we started looking at similar models that have seen clubs like Swansea, Luton and Brentford achieve success despite changing the Head Coach - recruitment that isn't just based on the Manager's rolodex and a coaching staff that aren't necessarily his usual picks
Precisely what Speakman has spoke about. Any coach coming in will match the clubs identity, philosophy and style

Absolute music. Just been on a Teams call with a lad at work who is a West Ham fan and he endorses the comments made to Cack Stottie, reckons Alves is a monster, possibly a little on the headstrong side of aggressive so may need to temper things from time to time but takes no prisoners. It'll make a nice change for us not to be bullied.
Apparently as well as the U23 international experience he's gone to West Ham with a season or so of first team experience in a pretty physical league so this shouldn't be a shock to his system.

Just love to see it ! I’ve kinda got set on us getting jebbi and Key as well so if they come off it would be brilliant. (I know Jebbi is seen as a doubt due to theoretical appearances agreements)

I'm sure @Football Dinosaur will be along any minute to second that <laugh>

I believe he's coming in primarily as a full back but it certainly will make Wright raise an eyebrow.

Seems the PL managers have more faith in Johnson than some of our own supporters.

I can't be bothered getting into an argument on RTG but I've seen it said a good few times, mainly by The Rat, that Lee Johnson has a poor track record for bringing through youth.

Yet here we are with another club entrusting us with one of their hottest prospects. Both Cirkin and Doyle talking about Johnson's reputation as a coach in their first club interviews and I saw a Chronicle piece this morning from Josh Hawkes saying how great Johnson has been for him and all the young lads since he's come in.

Aye you know the Rat though. I’ve had him on ignore for ages now cos he just seems contrary and WUM to me

Got to be honest, I was worried three or four weeks ago that we were leaving ourselves too much to do in too short a space of time but the lads we have signed so far and those we appear to be about to sign or are being strongly linked with look very promising.
Long may it continue.

We are in a great position as it stands to get some Prem loans. With their season now starting, and our squad having only 1 loan (hopefully 2 soon), we can accommodate any lads on the verge of a squad but just a fraction short.
