Sounds like Cork wanted more money than we thought he was worth so we didnt bother. Right move for me. Remember when Ross said Grigg wasnt worth more than X. It is good news for me we arent a soft touch anymore.

How much do you reckon a club like Cork would have wanted ffs. Id guess 100k max and at 19 we would be more than likely to earn a profit though. Look at the likes of McClean and Shane Long that came from the Irish league.
We were clearly interested but couldn't come up with the cash. I love the optimism from some of yous on here but ffs give your heads a shake.

What are you talking about? We were interested enough to put a cheeky bid in but not go higher. Nowt wrong with that.

everything has a price. if we thought he'd become a £5m+ player we'd have likely paid the price.

Not optimism, just interpreting. We had him on trial for 2 weeks and decided he wasnt worth the money. Sounds like you want us to pay whatever they want even if he isnt worth it.

Hes plays for Cork ffs, im not saying he'd have been a starter but if hes good enough for a Championship club to sign then why would we not pursue it when we already had him on trial ffs.

Probably 20k and a Keg of Guiness. Hes gone to a Championship club so please explain why it was good buisness sense to not snap a young player up before anyone else could considering we are supposedly worth over a billion quid??

Because we had him on trial, knew his strength and weaknesses and know how likely he was going to be to make it.

You don't just pay whatever a club wants. If we think he's worth £100k we should stop bidding at £100k.

It's all about calculated gambles. Coventry obviously thought he was worth a punt. We obviously didn't.

Wow i love you're optimism mate. I suppose theres not one player been worth the punt either then since May in your opinion considering we have yet to spend a penny.?

You've never seen this lad play, have got no idea how good he is, but have decided we should have offered whatever Cork wanted?

Are you that desperate for signings?

It was back in January anyway.

Mate we will probably just disagree. It is not good sense to pay more for something than you believe it is worth. Cov dont have an u23 prem 2 team so have a greater need to pay over the odds at that age group. Maybe we thought our u23s were of a higher value.

Don't be ridiculous mate - every player that signs for every club should have been signed by us FFS

So hes obviously worth the pittance Cork would have wanted for him.
Ill ask you again, why do you think we have not spent a penny yet? Its not the usual situation that happens when so called rich owners take over is it. ?

Yeah lets risk a months worth of League points to find the right players that could have been signed by now.
Its pretty obvious we have no cash to spend
