Standards. It’s bare minimum. If they can’t get that right then what are they going to get right? Why not just deliver them like they delivered them before.

Standards take time to implement. The priority is standards on the playing side.

That's not to say the admin side couldnt be doing with someone going through them like a dose of salts if that absolute shambles on STID is anything to go by. The malaise is deeply embedded in the club at every level and it's going to take years to weed out the bullshitters, incompetents and coasters.

I've spent the last 10 days trying to get proof of my no claims bonus from my old insurance company. Their office hours are 9 til 6 but ringing usually gets a message saying 'our office hours are 9 til 6, please call back during those hours.' I actually got through to a lad, obviously working from home, who said he'd pass on my request ... nothing has arrived.

The whole country is a shambles, people are off work, offices are empty ...

... if not getting a pat on the back, for buying a season ticket, is so important I feel sorry for people.

This is my beef with so many fans in these times, back on that day when you chose to be a fan of SAFC there was no contract to sign. It's your club and we're proud to call yourself a Sunderland die-hard come what may. In all that time I've never asked for anything trom the club. No free tickets, no free hospitality, no freebies whatsoever. All I want is those 11 players In a red n white shirt on match day to give 100%. 46th season coming up on Saturday and looking forward to it.

Already said, furlough, covid and staff isolating. And Royal Mail have a **** load of postie's isolating btw. What if they don't print the letters themselves and the supplier does? Supplier says "I can print your season cards in 2 days and you'll have them for Monday before the Wigan game. If you want a thank you letter they you'll have to wait until September".... What would you want the club to do? Bareing in mind that the supplier may have multi million pound contracts, more valuable than the SAFC letter printing contract to fulfill. If the supplier doesn't meet the big contracts they go bust and **** loads lose their jobs? It's about prioritisation and getting the basics done to keep the wheels turning to keep them in business now and in the short term.

It’s literally the easiest thing they could have done. Control the controllables. Our standards on the pitch are us having 0 senior full backs 6 days before the season starts. I think it just doesn’t look good.

reet, no one has even suggested that the team, club, squad is in 'perfect shape', we have all expressed some doubts about the way things stand but we are putting our faith in the new regime to get it right, it was never ever suggested that the past dozen years of mis-management will be fixed in the first six months or even the first year...we have no idea about what is in the background that we, as mere supporters will never be privvy to (remember the unexpected 'extras' for that transfer we never even did?).

while a little bit of negativity is ok, in fact, it is expected, there is a line between feeling 'not quite sure' about something and posting only negative comments, many a time with no substance to them whatsoever, not only posting but repeating them over and over as if somehow, that will make the rest of the board suddenly agree with every word...well, it does not, if anything it turns other posters against you (until, as @Smug in Boots quite rightly called it, they start claiming to be victims and finish with the classic 'no one will be happier than me...').

at the minute, and in case it escaped peoples attention somehow, we are in the middle of a pandemic, most companies (where possible) are still working with reduced staff and in many cases isolating staff, the more 'bumpf' that passes through peoples hands actually increases the likelihood of the virus being passed...has anyone considered these factors before jumping on the 'this club is sh1te' bandwagon?...and what difference would a nice little thank you letter make to the season or your enjoyment (yeh, i know) of the games, none at all.

" ... posting only negative comments, many a time with no substance to them whatsoever, not only posting but repeating them over and over as if somehow, that will make the rest of the board suddenly agree with every word."

And that's the reality, its the endless repetition that's annoying, not the negativity.

Every knows we need signings, everyone knows we're short of full backs, everyone knows we could use another striker ....

.... we don't need people relentlessly telling us what we all know.

How would going out and buying another McFazdean look?

Play the kids if necessary, until we get the full back we want. It's League One, exactly where other clubs send their kids to learn. All senior full backs started as kids thrown in.

Beautiful. :emoticon-0106-cryin. I'm under 40 and I don't expect anything other than the lads on the pitch giving 100%. Excellent post.

We’ve had the envelopes standing there waiting to go for a little while apparently. We were just waiting on the tickets to arrive.

Mcfadzean was literally signed because we left it to long to sign cover and our options were so thin. Awful comparison.

I have to say, it sickens me every time I go to Wembley and the announcer shouts 'Thank you for your support' <doh>

I don't need your thanks mate, I'm there to watch my team as I always do.
