Just seen a German report saying that Hoffman's loan to us includes an obligation (not an option) to buy if we get promoted.

We may even have a similar deal agreed with Union on Dejaku. Forget Bayern - we're essentially signing him from Union, so they can construct the loan deal however they / we want
Its all a bit odd this because some sources suggest that Dajaku returned to Bayern without Union taking up the option on him.

very true imagine if they were starting there 4th season in league one what they be like
They'd be boycotting (bouycotting) Papa Johns Pizzas and Sky Bet. They'd be marching down to the offices of the ELF and shouting outside the MIND Headquarters demanding something or other.....

Wolves' keeper ewears No.11. Utter madness

I'd love to see a return to 1-11 - but only with all the player in the proper positions - none of this No.3 at Centre Back or No.11 up front.

it should always be:

1
2 5 6 3
7 8 4 11
9 10

Patricio was until they sold him, agree that a keeper shouldn't wear 11.

That is the line up of how traditionally numbers are used here, but they mean different things elsewhere. In Spain and Italy the 10 is traditionally the playmaker and in Argentina the 5 is the holding midfielder.

Tifo did a quality video on the progression of squad numbers -

Ideally we have 2 players for every position (not that it saved us last season in defence) but Johnson has already said that he will take some players (like O9) who can play a couple of positions as it means we have sign fewer players but pay more in terms of wages/fees

I also think we should be utilising our u23s more than we did last season

Definitely. Look at the difference Neil and Embo have made this year.

Not sure if Richardson or Dyce are quite ready for the move up yet though. We've clearly identified the need for another full back, so I'm sure we'll be trying to get one through the door today.

We'll never know until we try them - Given all the injuries we had last year, it's madness that Younger only got one game - not as mad as playing Power at Right Back and leaving Winchester on the bench like.

I know mate, but just cast your mind back to last season and how many CB's we lost to injury. We're only talking about 2 injuries here. If Cirkin gets injured, Huggins can switch to LB with Winny at RB.But if Evans gets injured too, we are short of a DM.

I'm sure they will cover it if they can, if they can't we'll have to make do. Either way it's been an amazing window.
You're not wrong mate, it's been a fantastic window. I'm glad I wasn't one of the people whinging we weren't signing anyone and was happy for us to bide our time to get quality rather than quantity.

****e thing about deadline day in League One is we don’t get covered.

We were always super prominent. Now I’m just constantly refreshing Twitter

This. Apparently a leauge one club signing players for Munich just isn't as important as the deals done in the two top leauges in England.

Younger was and is ready for this level though, as clearly Embo and Neil were too. In the close season games, Younger coped well at CB, whereas there were question marks about the two full backs. If we can get one in, which we are clearly trying to do, then Winny and 09 can be used in midfield, as and when needed, giving us 6 midfielders for 3 positions, which is what LJ says he wanted (2 for each position).

I wonder what happens now with our final full back vacancy.

As far as I can tell, we now have 5 loan players - Doyle, Alves, Broadhead, Dejaku and Hoffman.

If we sign a 6th, one will have to miss out on the squad.

It could be that if the 6th is a full back option, they miss out when all others are available if the Cirkin and Huggins are.
