that is why i wondered...unless he is then free to find another club but we would expect a fee, i guess if we agree a fee to cover him for the remainder of his contract we would expect something back or he is effectively being paid twice, strange situation with players now since the bosman ruling as they can all but hold a club to ransom while doing the absolute minimum required.
Someone will take Grigg I reckon. 8 in 20 for MK Dons last season shows he can still finish. A L1 team will take that, or even an ambitious L2 team with some money.
He has to be told he wont play again for the club, he can train, but not with the first team, let him see how fat he gets with no game time and how he manages to get a club after sitting around for a season. He isnt exactly the motivated type, let him rot
I'd say it's a kind of gardening leave whereby he's paid monthly but not required to attend training, etc. Imagine if we paid him off, he goes to Wigan and his goal beats us in the play-off final. I think the club are trying to push him into accepting a deal elsewhere before the end of the window. That would at least get rid of him.
To sign for someone as a free agent you have to have become a free agent before the end of the transfer window.
Exactly, I'd like to think the keen young lads are taking the piss ... ... was a time when the senior pros ruled the roost over the club.
To sum up him and his time here, is "a massive fanny", moaning he didn't want to come, moping around on the pitch and at no point have the fans gave him sick. Even Mcgeady gave him a penalty to set him off with a confidence boost. Gave him his loan away last season etc. From the outside looking in, everyone has bent over backwards for him.
This mate. When the youngsters are showing more passion and drive than players that have played and play at international level, then it's time to get off the bus.
His agent has obviously told him we will pay him off then he will get another contract from another team. What will happen is the greedy bastard can either split his current deal between us and a new club, or he can rot on his fat arse
Me neither, I played until I hadn't shaken off the knocks & bruises until the following Sunday ... ... then ran the line when I couldn't merit a place.
He hasn't the knackers to play for us because he'll then have to face the music with the fans about his attitude, commitment and output here. As for a move, hes on good money for the level we're at and in all likelihood he isn't going to get that kind of money again, so is he willing to sit on that for a year before taking a move?
He’s made it perfectly clear he doesn’t want to be here. If we have to pay him, get him to turn up every day and train on his own. I hate the thought of him sitting at home whilst taking our money, so at least p!ss him off as well by making him be up here.
