i don’t think not having a left back will cost us 15 points.

signing the wrong players that we are then stuck with might cost us a hell of a lot more over the next couple of seasons.

I’d still much rather the right ones came in on 30th august than the wrong ones now. I’m just disappointed because I’m losing faith that that will happen. That’s my problem tho not the clubs
This, we chucked are first 5 games in the Keane season still won the league,

Not having any full backs or a centre half to play with Doyle and another striker. It all mounts up. It may be 15 we miss out on it may be less but we can't afford to give anyone a head start.

and frankly if we lose our first 5 games it’s because we need an entire new team. Not having the last remaining players aren’t going to turn a winning side into a losing one for five consecutive games.

I agree we risk losing points. But we don’t risk losing 15 of them

winchester and Dyce at full back, with Wright and Doyle at centre back, and Stewart up front, on the opening day, isn’t ideal. But it’s by no means turning our team from a winning one to a losing one five times out of five.

People forget we live in the easily deeply offended era, people like to whine and complain robustly about the most trivial agenda. Take your average supermarket shelf stacker, not many days pass where irate Joe public is giving him a proper tongue lashing for the most random trivial thing. Twits like to tweet important people, nobody is more important than the tweeter. Sorry to say, but society is fcuked. Have we signed any fullbacks yet BTW ?

We'll soon see but it's that type of patching up that cist us last season. How anyone can think playing that is ok is beyond me.

I disagree from the first game, ideal world yes you would want that, but for me it's has to be right when the window shuts if it's before that even better, if it's not, and we get the right players In at the end window I'll be very happy the club took its time, if we **** it up come the 1st of September, I'll not be happy then,

Got to agree with you totally on this. If we are still playing Winchester for example at right back from September until the start of the January transfer window then we have something to be seriously concerned about but until the transfer window closes we just have to be patient

How many times does that happen. Also we had a strong leader in Keane. LJ has many positives but he's not Keane like.
Last season Oxford and Blackpool were in the bottom half after 5 games both finished in the playoffs and 1 went up
Are first season, Luton started poor won the league, Charlton started poor went up it happens nearly every season

I really don’t know how we are going to compete against the footballing juggernauts in this division...

Jesus Christ. I know we’re a couple of first team players short but people are going on like we’ll be cut adrift at the foot of the table if we don’t sign a left back before the season starts.

We can tbh, unless you're saying we need to go top against Wigan and stay there all season.
So you'd happily be bottom half or worse after 5 games which I'd what I'm saying could happen. It's not just one game it's 5! We need to get into winning mentality and stay there. Anyone content nit to win is by extension a loser. That's the mentality I loved from Keane.

I think it’s fair that most managers would want all players in for pre season.

but not having them in doesn’t mean disaster.

disaster is signing the wrong players, giving them 2 year deals then spending the next 3 windows not being able to sign the right ones until you’ve got the wrong ones off your books

There’s no way Speakman or Johnson are happy with our business or comfortable with where we are. But it’s a darn sight better than an alternative reality where we have filled our squad up with future deadwood
