Would quite like it before Friday as I want him to play. But perhaps it will be announced Friday even if signed tomorrow as admin loves that ****.

Players like him should be bought in my opinion. He must be a mile off Liverpool side. Give liverpool a small fee with a sell on. Give the lad a signing on fee and performance bonus, with a modest salary. Leave loan spots for them you cant sign like Doyle. Later in August prem sides will be begging teams to take loans and we need to keep slots available for any that fit our profile or just are too good to turn down.

I find it strange how people are being knocked back for commenting on where we are with recruitment right now, yet the fortune tellers are saying we are going after much better quality players than the rest of those teams in league one. I mean those disappointed at the current state don't know what's going on, yet others can read KLDs mind

Its a good point, nee bugger knows for sure why we havent signed everyone yet, or whether we will get the better quality players in. I suspect neither is as straightforward as we would want it. I understand why people are pulling their hair out, and why people like me think we will get to a good place. Both perspectives seem reasonable enough to me.

One thing I reckon we can predict is we are going to be a young team. I hope if we lose a few, or make mistskes, we dont get on their backs. This wont be the players who have landed us in the ****, or left us in it, by and large.

Like I said earlier mate, I was no fan of Johnson but I like the way he has us playing. But it’s a long old season and we need that youthful energy because the experienced/old bastards have let us down in the closing weeks of the last 3 seasons when the going got a bit tough

I agree. There are ways to debate and insults are going too far. I have a point of view which I think is right but I will certainly try to refrain from mud slinging when conversing with other posters. I'd expect the same back, which, in the main has been the case on this board.

Personal opinion, if are team isn't good enough when the window shuts, then I'll be worried, 5 weeks left to get the players, don't understand complaining about the transfer window when it's only 3 weeks into it, plenty of time yet

The transfer window is a nightmare used by players, clubs and agents to manipulate the system ...

... it's all about keeping your nerve which Donald, and some fans, obviously find beyond them.

I'd like us to sign certain players but not everyone wants to live in the NE and I'd rather the club didn't bribe them to come to somewhere they'd be unhappy.

I'll be pessimistic if we still have Grigg, lose Hume and don't sign 3 more players ....
