Angel Rangel is expected to stay at Queens Park Ranger past January, according to Les Ferdinand.

The full-back joined the Hoops on a short-term contract that runs until the new year.

However speaking at the Fans' Forum on Thursday evening, QPR's director of football revealed that the club do have an option to extend his stay at Loftus Road - something which they expect to happen.

He said: "We have something in pace which we can trigger that in January.

"I've spoken to him and he wants to stay so it's now just sitting down with his agent and making sure things are in place, everything's correct and he's happy.

"I think we're certainly happy with his contribution this season so yeah, I think that'll be done."

Tremendous....still doesn't mean he wont be sold...but does mean we can ask serious money for him now....

And he won't run the clock down, and go for a free
Either way great news, great intent

Freeman signs new contract. Fantastic news and great show of intention from the club!
It is good news, though having read this I was a little disappointed to read on the Official it was only 1 more year, which will at best mean we'll be looking to do similar this time next year. Still he seems to enjoy where he is, his interview on the Official is well worth a watch, with all his goals and especially for the bit at the end.

Remember he can hold us to that contract (which is no doubt worth more than he was on) for 2.5 years.

Even if we suffer two relegations in the mean time (just saying, I do not think we will...)
Our club is being prudent, and sensible ...at last.
No more 3-4 year contracts for people like Cauker and JET on silly money and that they sit around doing nothing on.

States until 2021??

Freeman isn't Caulker or Jet, he plays every game, touch wood.
