TALKS BETWEEN BIRMINGHAM CITY FOOTBALL CLUB AND THE EFL REMAIN ONGOING IN REGARD PROFITABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY REGULATIONS.
The Club has spent several months working diligently to satisfy the EFL.
Unfortunately and disappointingly the EFL are currently refusing to allow us to make additions which would enable us to strengthen the Manager's squad.
We are hopeful that a satisfactory agreement can be reached with the EFL as soon as possible to help ensure our continued competitiveness in the Championship.
We fully understand supporters’ frustrations over this issue in the wake of recent speculation and rumour. We share those frustrations.
The Club asks supporters to maintain the fabulous and passionate backing they have given to Garry Monk and the team since the Manager's appointment - it is hugely appreciated and when we have that togetherness and strength in numbers it can make a big difference.
The Board of Directors are ambitious and are committed to improvement and bringing success to the Club, in all aspects on and off the field.
And supporters can rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to address this current situation.
The Club will make no further comment.

I fear that taking this attitude will lead us into another situation similar to the one with Chery. The optimism generated by a few good performances after he signed kept him in the squad for so long even though he was damaging to the team and results.
Chery and Freeman are quite similar... plenty of natural talent but absolutely woeful with decision making and ending up losing possession more often than keeping it.
The big difference is that Freeman seems to try hard and care as where Chery was just a selfish, careerist ****.
So, basically Freeman seems to be a bit of an idiot regarding team play and tactics. Which can be coached out of him if someone confronts it head on.
Who was the last player at qpr that was there for the love of the place and not there as part of their career
I love watching Freeman play. He alone is worth the price of the admission ticket (or season ticket in my case). He has wonderful technical ability and I can recall him beating opposition players when he had no right to do so, with seemingly insufficient space to get past them. Add to that his tackling ability and willingness to put in a shift and I believe he is one of the most talented players we have had on our books in recent years. Sure, I'd like to see him unlock defences more often with a killer pass but, to me, he is the essence of what QPR is, or should be, all about: the way we play, our heritage.
I understand all about FFP and our need to sell players periodically but if Freeman goes, I go.
I agree with you about Freeman's ability and commitment Rodders, but I think we have to get used to the fact that we may lose some of our best players from time to time - not necessarily because the club wants to sell, but because we can't pay the wages that they can earn elsewhere (Robinson being a case in point). I can't see Freeman going anywhere right now though, and, in any case, we have a player in Eze that looks like he could be even more of an entertainer in the QPR tradition. No time to be cashing in your season-ticket.
The feeling is mutual. Horrible club, horrible fans and horrible everything. Would dance for joy if they ceased to exist!
To be fair I think most of the current squad are with us because they want to play for the club and not for the money. This and last seasons squad has more to like about it than anything of the squads from the previous 5 seasons........
Maybe they do see us as a step up from their previous clubs and there would be something wrong if they didn't se us as stepping stone to better things, this is the way moneyball works, buy low, sell high......

I'm not comparing Freeman to my namesake but we managed to keep Marsh for 6 years and his brand of football hooked people like me for life. It would be nice if we could keep Freeman, a mere mortal compared to Marsh, for several years and hook some of the few youngsters who turn up nowadays. Freeman is the sort of footballer they, and I, want to see perform on a Saturday afternoon, not the likes of Matt "Slo Mo" Smith.
Ask yourself, are those youngsters more likely to imitate Smith in the playground on a Monday morning or Freeman? As a former financial guru, I can say: forget counting the beans and keep something invested in a star attraction.
