Fair. But then again, how many clubs were happy to let Eze go year after year? Guess different players bloom at different ages and stages.
Madsen is 24, way older than when Eze was on the merry go round. We have to trust Nourry and his analytics bods are seeing things that others haven’t. None of our signings are obvious superstars, but they are all pretty young and presumably the idea is that they will have some resale value. The loan lads look the pick of the bunch.

It says that he waiting for a work permit, so I doubt it.

I must say that I have no idea how good he is but I have a good feeling about this guy.
The missing link perhaps, can play as a 6, 8 or a 10. Says his favourite position is as an 8, but might well fill in at 10 for now with Andersen and Chair out. We've apparently paid £2 mill for him which could go up, so Marti must rate him pretty highly. When Chair gets back , we could have an exciting side to watch !

I thought we were at the start of another three year cycle. I've assumed they have spent Eze money, a deal which has not, as yet, happened.

There's no such thing as a 'three year cycle'. It's a rolling three year, and we've moved out of the big spend of three years ago so have a bit of headroom (about £10Mill if ai remember). We also have about £5Mill from the tv deal, £2.5M from Armstrong sale and have dumped some high earners like Begovic, and replaced them with cheaper alternatives. There are also rumours we may have done a deal with Palace for them to buy out our add-on clause for a fixed fee, but as everything these days is being kept close to Nourrys chest then nothing is certain.
