I’m afraid success this year will be if we avoid the drop. It’s going to be a long season.
Would be a huge success to avoid relegation. Based upon last season, our player sales and potential player sales we could quite easily be one of the worst teams in the league. If we can aim to be a top half championship within the next 3-5 years then that will be a massive progression considering the decline since our current owners took the reigns.

I agree with this.
He's a very good keeper at our level. He had a poor season, but I expect a lot of that is down to a complete lack of confidence in the team in front of him, fuelling his own lack of confidence after a spell of bad form.

Success - on whatever level that is determined - will be based upon canny signings and an inspirational manager who motivates and gets more from the squad than the sum of its parts

I'm not sure right now we can pin our hopes on either

To be fair to Gazza he managed that for ten years at Wycombe who regularly punched way above their weight but I do share your misgivings that he might just have stepped up a level too far. His first 3 months will give us a good indication of what our fate may be...

He no longer wanted to play for us.
The edge had gone of his game to be honest.

Far too many mistakes in last 18 months.

But need a replacement that probably isn't Archer
It’s true Beth. If he wants a move then so be it. It will be interesting to see how he fares at ‘boro.
Boro have also signed a keeper from Melbourne this week.

Our challenge is to find a replacement. Saw a bit of clickbate on the Florists Ethan Horvath, who was on loan at Luton last season, who actually sounds like a worthwhile consideration as a loan for the season. He’d certainly get some experience with us.

Is dieng going to be the number one keeper or just a bench warmer

Not that I care now he's left
Two decent gk...it'll be interesting.
The way Carrick is talking Dieng could start as no1, but will be challenged.
Bet he is no2 by end of season though

If that's the case then we should've sold Dieng and Willock before last season started. We'd have got alot more for them then than now. Also, somewhere down the line you have to stop and say right, this side is good enough to get promoted or at least make the play offs. It's what Brentford did to perfection !

That's what we did with Warbs and then failing put us in deeper FFP trouble. Meanwhile, Man City....

Twitterers are also saying Jake Clarke-Salter is out for 12 weeks.

Not a great signing
We needed to bring in 2 new centre backs even with him in my opinion. Watch us give Balogun a new deal and bring in no other centre halves, and then Balogun get ruled out for 6 months within 2 games ! It's this complete lack of foresight and bringing in injury prone ****ters on the cheap that has almost resulted in relegation. I know we don't have alot to spend, but do we ever ****ing learn our lessons ?
