Can't see that happening, was seriously useful before horrendous injury. Be surprised if Blackburn released himAlso floating rumours about interest in Bradley Dack, how true who knows

Correct Ozzie they did release himI read that he's a free agent. Only 29. A gamble following his injury but i think he'd be worth a punt.

We can’t afford to take a punt. Steer clear.
Pay as you play? A rate per game rather than a salary?
He’d be foolish to do so IMO. Someone will take a proper punt on him if he sits tight. Our one advantage could be that his wife wants to move South. She’d be a welcome addition to South Africa Road.Fair point. If he would be willing to sign on that basis, then yes.

No longer our player on Wikipedia. Not confirmed anywhere but Wikipedia...where it has him as our player...yet
Pay as you play deals are just fantasy aren't they? They don't really happen, didn't we offer Clint Hill something like that and he quite rightly told us to run and jump? I don't see any player taking that kind of arrangement in the modern climate unless they really are falling apart.
I agree that players, understandably, might not like it but, if they have been regularly crocked and no-one is prepared to take a chance on them, they may have no choice.
More importantly, "Pay As You Play" versus a guaranteed weekly wage is not necessarily a zero/one choice: there's always the possibility of a hybrid arrangement whereby the club could pay a decent basic wage and top it up to a good level with appearance payments. If the player is confident he is fit, he might go for it.... if he isn't and doesn't... we're well shot of him!
Absolutely agree with them in principle but do they ever actually happen? Or is it just something we speculate about? I couldn't see a 29 year old taking such a deal even with an injury history.I agree that players, understandably, might not like it but, if they have been regularly crocked and no-one is prepared to take a chance on them, they may have no choice.

Wow, some interesting takes on employment practice here. We ask a player who is out of contract (for a reason) to move to one of the most expensive cities in the world, tell him to turn up to training and make himself available but decline to pay him unless he is actually selected. He could be fit but just not picked. For a season.
Hasn’t this got a name? Oh yeah, it’s a zero hours contract.

Standard Sport now have both Dieng and Willock in talks with Boro.
