Hmmmm. As ecstatic as I am, I still have concerns over CB.

Gazzaniga
Clyne
Yoshida
Davis
Ramirez
Mayuka
Rodriguez

That's some good business on the whole.

Who knows what other players we were in for but didn't manage to sign? Still, all in all I'm very happy with this window. I know the perception is that we're still a bit thin at the back but don't forget we have Yoshida, who will be a great CB in time and might rival Jos in the goal scoring stakes too. Luke Shaw will come good, as will Jack Stephens, so we'll be fine. Another thing is that Danny Fox has never played behind a genuine left winger before, so either Mayuka or Ramirez, whichever one plays on the left, will hopefully offer better cover than Lallana did. And Steven Davis will hold things together in the middle to cover the CB's. It's a great time to be a Saints fan!

Admire your optimism, but there's a lot of uncertainty around most of those points for me.

He is too lightweight. He isn't that good.

They sold Modric and VDV, he isn't as good as these players.AVB won't be at Spurs for long.
No more lightweight than Modric, would have been a decent replacement, although yes, quite a hefty fee.

AVB will be given time I reckon. They wouldn't have hired him and allowed him to sell loads of first teamers if they wanted immediate success.

Is there a chance we could still have something waiting to be confirmed, a van der Vaart-esque signing? (Not in terms of the player, in terms of the arrival, no one heard about it until the morning after)
