I've said a few times that I don't think we need a striker, but after watching the Africa Cup of Nations, I absolutely adored Mayuka. Considering he could play anywhere in the "3" of a 4-2-3-1, I'm all for it.

Also heard blackburn have bid £4m for lambo - if true surely turn that down.
 
RL's not for sale, table £10m he's still not for sale. And if he goes anywhere, I'd like to see him happy, not move to a stinking battery hen shed where footballers are treated like packaged meat. Oh my days. <grr> annoyed.com
 
Well he's hardly going to drop a division is he? Even if we accepted the offer, I imagine he'd say something along the lines of "balls to that, I'm not going there."
 
I think he was always supposed to have quite a bright future. Villa are clearly very pressed for money though.

Also a word that we've received a 4m bid for lambo from Blackburn. Surely be rejected if true.
 
To be honest I think he would improve Villa's team at the moment, that's how poor it is. Based on what I've seen so far they're the worst team in the league.
 
Has anyone noticed the players we're linked to and their current squad numbers.....

3 - Yoshida
10 - Ramirez
15 - Boilesen
24 - Fontas & Mayuka

That's 5 of the 7 players most recently linked that play in a squad number we've got available!! The only exceptions are Biyik who wears 5, and M. Phillips who wears 7.

Just wondering if that validates that we may be after any of the above (e.g. we've kept their numbers free to help entice them to come), whether that's part of why they've been linked (e.g. the press have looked at our free numbers and positions required and drawn some random conclusions), or whether the whole thing is just total chance.

I did think he looked like someone who had potential. But then again, I wasn't fussed at not signing him permenantly.
