Could work. Same concept as Beef Dripping's Shaqiri rumour, a player who is obviously too good for us (making it funny for those who know anything about foreign football) but not well known enough in England to be completely dismissed. I reckon if we got it on Twitter with enough volume it could spread.
 
My Fierro rumour hasn't spread much :( Pretty much just confined to a handful of people on this thread.
 
Sky sports reporting us to be interested in cesena centre back Yohan Benaloane, dot know anything about him but done a little internet research and he doesn't look like a marquee signing! Also is Tunisian...wonder if Jaidi us having a hand in it?
 
Jaidi's been tweeting about being involved in something which sounds a lot like an imminent signing. Or maybe he's just been taking lessons from Sibley on teasing fans on twitter...

Not sure I like the sound of him.

After a particularly poor performance in a 2-0 loss against Bologna in December 2010, Benalouane was substituted. On leaving the pitch, and being jeered by Cesena supporters, he stormed past the bench and headed straight down the tunnel. He later publicly apologised for his behaviour.

He was apparently scouted by Newcastle, but yeah...a player who wasn't a standout on a team relegated from Serie A doesn't sound the most inspiring option.

Haha you gave him the Wikipedia treatment like me....whoever wrote that wasn't a fan of his that's for sure! Will reserve judgement as I did moan about Jos last season when we signed him and he has been excellent. Still juries out with him this season!! Fonte is squad/cover at best!

I have seen a lot of "imminent transfer" coming from you there RLGB have to say so far I think you have just been living in hope like the rest of us! Something has to happen soon that's for sure! I think the market is extremely difficult at the moment with all these greedy agents commanding a huge price for their involvement. I actually hope to see a wave of new signings this week. 2 CBS / winger/ left back and maybe another striker possibly even a goalie. Really don't think Kelvin can be a starter this season!
