I'm thinking they have their eyes on something better and Buttner is no longer a priority. Also shows you shouldn't mess Saints about.

Harding is no-where near Buttner for me. Shaw? Perhaps this year is a bit too soon for him but who knows.

I thought it was his Dad to blame- either way its not Saints fault, but the guy really wants to come and I feel for him. If he shows this much desire to play for us, he must show it on the pitch which can only be a good thing.

I heard his agent tried changing how Saints would pay the transfer. Trying to make us pay a bigger upfront fee, rather then installments like we wanted.
A third party due some money was mentioned by Vitesse. They were angry because when they negotiated the price with Saints they made no allowance for this additional cost as they were unaware of it. I would think Saints wanted to stick to their original deal.
Buttner's in a very awkward position now. He didn't travel with Vitesse for their pre-season tour and he's not been given a squad number, but we can't be that keen on him if he's not yet joined after all this hassle.
The 3rd party was his agent, his agent even admitted it. He wanted Saints to pay a bigger lump some so he could get more cash.
