I dont think the Clyne is in France...saw somebody saying they saw him in Westfield yesterday. Also cortese wouldn't stand for that, he demands 100% commitment or you move on. I know we are not Man U but we are a premier league side and aim to progress, if Clyne wants to do the same then I don't think there is a better club he could come to than SFC, if he goes to United he will be playing reserve and cup games for a long time.
 
Curtis Davies doesn't do it for me, don't know why just don't want him here.
 
Just seen this on the Metro live blog with Jamie Sanderson:


"We're expecting the Clyne deal to go through in the next 48 hours. Buttner is a little further away, and Southampton are looking at other options at the moment. Nigel Adkins is busy, though!"
 
I wouldn't mind either to be honest. Davies has had a couple of dodgy years but has been good for the last couple, and Dann had a solid career until last season.

But we want more then just a solid player tbh, Davies isn't any better then Hooiveld or Fonte. Seeing as I have a few concerns over Fonte this season. I'd be looking for someone better.

Don't think so, united's only other natural right back is rafael, smalling and jones have been converted but not naturally.

That seems a boneheaded and petty approach especially when the club in question is Manchester United

You know what The Don is like. He has a sort of arrogant swagger about him that suggests we are the best. Hasn't served us too bad up to this point however.

I hate the word swagger....
 
If I was choosing I would definitely pick Dann over Davies, but haven't really heard of any other centre halves that are available. Who else is there!?

Just to add another bit of news, Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Kevin de Bruyne is likely to go out on loan, as well as Romelu Lukaku who is supposedly in talks with Fulham.
