I don't know much about FIFA, but I've watched quite a few SendHeskeyHome's on Youtube, and 70 is good.

For comparison, Lallana is 75, Lambert 71, Sharp 72, Lee 66, Matt Etherington 80, Stewart Downing 80-ish, Steve De Ridder 70-ish... those ratings alone show how little you should read into it.

Just to point out regarding Fifa stats, take no notice of the overall stats of the players, this by no means relates to how good they are on the game or in real life. However, if you look at their attributes this should correspond with how the player plays in real life, for instance, De Ridder will have a high pace/acceleration stat but a low tackling stat.

But even so, under no circumstances should a video game give you your opinion on how good a player is.

You are well educated in the field of FIFA. :p

Do they also not go up or down a notch depending on how good the league they are in, too..?

BTW, I'm not basing any opinion of Büttner on FIFA ratings. Just trying to gen up a bit. :)

I know you're not, but I also know some people do - especially on Twitter.

Erm, they tend to change the ratings a couple of times a season, only majorly when the game gets its January transfer update - Lallana was 71 or 72 at the start of the year but went up to 75 after January, if I remember correctly. Normally happens when an unknown kid suddenly explodes - for example a couple of years ago Fabian Delph was an unimportant (though promising) Leeds youngster, but was rated about 59 at the start of the game, and I think his main position was RB too. Then, after a very impressive first half of the season in midfield, he went up to nearly 70.

Sometimes they add in young players too. At the start of FIFA 12 James Ward-Prowse wasn't on the game, then by January though he had made very little impact, it was obvious he was an important youngster so was added into the game.
