Trotter impressed me last year when we played Millwall, probably their best player. He'd be a very good back-up and a great future investment at only 23 in the Premier League.
He's an excellent player - primarily quite a deep-lying midfielder, but has ridiculous stamina which allows him to get forward and cause problems. He has a knack of finding the net, and is good both in the air and with the ball at his feet. He's quick, strong and over 6ft. Perfick.

So you would rather gamble on another Championship player who has already failed to impress in the EPL, who is 4 years older, would undoubtedly be much more expensive and let's be honest, was probably one of the worst players on the park when Cardiff came up against decent opposition in the playoff semi finals.
I know who I would rather go for and judging by the players we've been linked with so far, I reckon I could guess who Nigel would be more interested in.
