Good fit for us. I think we pretty much agreed SKD deserved this season in the prem and the keeper that comes in should be young player ready to take over.
Sounds like Birmingham will make him 1st choice and that means he might stay as doubt any prem club can offer that.

Still awaiting news on jay-rod! Apparently agreement needed to be done by midnight last night or we lose exclusive rights!
 
It's bank holiday weekend. Everyone is at home washing their car. Don't panic.

I wouldn't worry about that. Fair play to Alan Nixon for breaking the news that we had an offer accepted. But I don't agree that we had exclusive rights to sign him last night. Few reasons, what's the rush for both parties (burnley and saints) to get the deal done so quickly. Also, why would Jay Rod sign a contract from abroad without meeting Saints representatives and having a look around the area and the club itself. I still believe he will sign but next week once he has arrived back from holiday.
 
Nixon has said another club has matched our bid, he's trying to find out who - but it's not Aston Villa.

Someone asked if that was it "over" for us. He said not at all. He's not knocked us back but it's not a one horse race.

If rumours are to be believed, then he's already looked around in January!

Cork (his agent anyway) did the same thing as it was anticipated that interest would be high and there would be competition for his signature.

Precisely. I'm struggling to understand why people think it's all over as he didn't sign for the first club that made a bid within 2 days.

Perhaps I would be more worried if we were a little bit short of cash but from the bid and other touted fees I don't think that's an issue.

Indeed, im not worried. If anything im still just encouraged by our ambition. If we we're to miss out on Jay Rod, you'd bet money on a striker of equal quality and price to be entering the frame later on.
 
Omg Jay-Rod hasn't signed yet, what the **** is going on. I thought this club was on the up it appears not, no one will sign for us that's be honest.

All this talk about we have millions to spend is crap, we infact have 2p.We are going down with no points at all and only scoring 3, but letting in 203.

God I wish another Galaxy would smash into ours to stop all this heartache.

A realistic and measured response, if I may say so. It's so good to read of posters with the feet and expections well and truly planted. ;)

Possibly, but we certainly weren't the only ones interested and I believe someone else had a bid accepted too. Even if Jay Rod really wants to join us, attracting interest would put him in a stronger position to negotiate a better deal.
 
JRod is on holiday! If he's going to sign for us, it will be when he is back in the country, not by fax from Mexico.

Well according to reports in papers we only have 4 billion years to wait for the galaxy to be hit by another. Pity we will all miss it.
