Burnley accept a £7m bid from Southampton for striker Jay Rodriguez, according to BBC Radio Lancashire. Rodriguez, 22, scored 21 goals for the Clarets last season and was named in the Championship team of the year by the Professional Footballers' Association last month.

This was just announced on the BBC sports breaking news page.

How long before the Burnley fans come on here to complain like they did with Cork and Fox? <laugh>

Be even worse when we bid for Trippier <laugh>

Jay Rod - £7m
Premier League - £90m

Means to an end I guess. Young, Enlgish talent comes at a premium an £7m is a lot less than we'd have to pay if he played for another PL club.

£7m for a newly promoted club is a lot of money, and I mean a lot!

Not even QPR spent that on a single transfer fee last season. We spent just over £3m on Ryan Bennett from Peterborough in January, and I highly doubt we'll spend anywhere near £7m on a single transfer fee next season, even though its our second season in the Premier League.<ok>

Can't remember the player but Sky stated we had a done deal for a player last season and that was untrue. The media feed off each other and then we gather the crumbs and create our own gateau. JRod is on his holidays in Barbados (I think) so let's hope that NC has sent the video.
