When I was at University, we didn't revise for exams. We just got pissed. Still, came out with a 2:2 and got a better job than most with 1st's and 2:1's out of the 'proper' universities. A degree doesn't make you employable, it merely acts as a piece of paper that shows you can learn. Go out, get wasted and enjoy yourself.
I was a strange student...actually enjoyed learning and facts. Still do. Didn't like revision as such, but enjoyed exams. I would have hated the present system of continuous assessment...preferred cramming and exams.
According to the Mirror, us and Cardiff are battling for Rodriguez. If true surely it's a no brainer for Rodriguez. Premier League football or Championship football. Hmmm, wonder what he'd choose!
There is no way that Cardiff have that sort of money to spend either...this is a non-story beyond a shadow of a doubt! At the moment the Malaysians who own Cardiff may well be on the verge of pulling out after the red-shirt rebrand fiasco, so they won't have that financial clout.
I hate exams, much prefer doing coursework as long as I know how to do it.

Schools and 6th forms are cutting back on coursework because kids got so much help from parents. As someone generally workshy with a good memory for facts and parents that know nothing about my subjects, exams suit me more than coursework.

Bashing an A-level exam-style mini-essay out in a short space of time is a useful skill to retain. Are you a last minute type?
Have to cram at last minute or I'd have to do it all over again. Used to write short stories for womens magazines (The Lady, Bella, Best etc)...could knock them out in no time, but haven't the temperament for a novel. Similarly, housework is not an ongoing thing for me...quick blitz and nothing for weeks. Why waste valuable lazing and reading time?
Course work is more like real life, i.e. its a project and you have a longer time frame. If you like the subject (I guess there is a reason someone is studying the chosen subject) then you learn and absorb. How useful are exams really? Revision is stressful and basically rote learning, and isn't the information learned through the short term memory easier to forget?
I say this, but I guess in regards to actually attaining your degree, its just a means to an end and who cares when its its all over.

Exams involving ticking boxes can be good for those whose only asset is a good short term memory, but in the 60/70s when I was studying exams involved writing essays under exam conditions. You couldn't hide the fact you didn't understand the subject, but a good short term memory allowed you to remember examples for the point you were trying to make.
Does anyone still do exams with tick boxes?
I find essays easy to pretend you understand the subject, clever writing style can hide a lack of knowledge.

Essay writing can hide lack of factual knowledge, but cannot hide lack of understanding. Once you have your job you can use reference books and files, but you can do very little about your basic intellect. There are arguments for both styles of testing, but I know what suited me.
