Yeah should not be on too much either, he was on like a youth contract at Man City so I would have thought he would not have been on anything more than 3k a week and that is max, so I think if you are approaching him as a first teamer you may be able to get him at 5k a week for starters and then offer him something good in terms of cash per appearance so that you don't pay too much for someone who don't play, win either way then.
 
Gai Assulin was on loan at Brighton last season and didn't really do much.
 
By this logic we could say, RIchard Eckersley made league appearances for Man Utd, sign him up! John Halls came through the Arsenal academy, he must have something!

For us, it seems they don't make a start then they move on to bigger things, like Williamson...how he's playing even half regularly for Newcastle is beyond me.

The funny thing is that some of these players will probably get snapped up on the basis of who they used to play for. Whereas if those clubs used a bit of thought, they would probably sign players released from the Saints academy instead.

He joined the Barcelona academy aged 12. If Lallana's a Southampton academy product, this guy is a Barcelona academy product.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's worth signing though.

Guzan is decent but I think he'd struggle to get a work permit now, he barely played for Villa.

Indeed. Someone on SaintsWeb posted "Dani Benitez" on the transfer thread over there on the 5th of May, and I don't think any of us had really heard of him.

Now it's being reported in the press that we are in for him and the guy who posted it originally is not one for posting rumours usually, and he says we are in talks with the lad.

Interesting either way, he's either had a really lucky guess out of nowhere a few weeks back or he knows something!
