After Arjen Robben's dismal showing for Bayern last night he will be given a free transfer to a newly-promoted south coast Premier League side.

It's about as believable as Di Matteo replacing Nigel.

Whilst he is being paid by Celtic he is unlikely (bar doing a Grant Holt) to say anything else.

As for Champions League football, no guarantee Celtic would make the group stage let alone beyond it. If they did make the group stage, they'd play probably 4 games vs good European teams and then back to Scottish Premier games against Inverness and St Mirren. Compare that to playing in the world's most high profile domestic league and playing against Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs etc twice a year.

You are correct (no disrespect to ICT and StMirren, both fine clubs), and that`s why I don`t think Hooper will be at Celtic next season. Meantime, he has to tow thw club line.
 
I personally would come to a prem team, i thought he would too being english. But when you think about it, he will see us as a small team, i mean if you were the best player at celtic would you go to wigan or reading. I mean obviously we see ourselves as better but we are a small team compared to Celtic

Edit: although thinking about it, he should be playing for England, so maybe we can lure him with the prospect of international recognition

Yep, I wouldn't spend too long worrying about what is written in the press. What I do know is that Celtic are going to have to decide between taking £7m now, or making Hooper their top paid player. Adkins wants him, that's not a secret, yes there is the European attraction but I don't think that will even be a serious consideration if he has a decision to make between there and here.

In short, Celtic have to decide if Hooper is worth an eight figure amount to them. And seeing as one of the horses in their two-horse race is about to be put down, it would be a brave decision to keep him.
 
Why do people get uptight when people reply to a rumor on a rumor thread. I dont think anyone seriously thinks the Di Mateo rumor is true but why cant people say how dissapointed they would be if something similar were to happen. Is Hooper quick because I think any attacking players we sing need to be quick its the area we lack sorely.

He is pretty quick (this is going on fifa) think he is 80 in that so speed demon ;)
