He was very inconsistant for them but showed glimpses of his talent.Don't forget, that if we signed Babel it would be like signing Messi for us,seeing as we are a recently promoted team he would be a fantastic player for us.

There would be less pressure for him to perform unlike all the pressure and expectation he had at Liverpool considering at how highly rated he was in Holland.

Don't forget he can score from midfield something we lack.

How are we lacking goals from midfield? Both Lallana and Guly got into double figures last season? And I don't know if you noticed how Babel has always, for every single team, had bad scoring records?

Sorry,I didn't make myself clear enough.I meant that he can score from long range, who can do that in our team?

Okay that's more fair. Nobody I suppose, Morgan's done it a couple of times but without enough regularity for it to be a safe bet. I personally don't think a long range threat is too important... either way I would like Babel to sign if it was free, but I'd really not like to see £7m-ish spent on him.

Not really, considering Babel is ****e.

It might be a bit of a gamble to splash £7m on him but the same can be said about Jay Rodriguez who has never played in the PL,but has plenty of potential.Babel has played in the PL and is decent at that level and could do a good job for us I think.

Nah, his attitude puts me right off.

Rodriguez is less of a risk as he's an English style player. Babel, on the other hand, was very poor in the Prem and struggled to adapt, and with the way Hoffenheim are already trying to shift him, shows he can't have settled too well in Germany.

I think he has the talent,he just needs the right manager to get him to play to his full potential.

And judging by the way that Puncheon, a player with similar attitude issues, has got on with Nigel, I feel it best we avoid Mr Babel.

Have I really just read that?

Is someone seriously lauding it over Ryan Babel?

Good Lord, give me strength. For £7m I'd rather we went and bought young and hungry talent like Butland, and yes, even Trotter as ghastly as that proposition seems to be to AB20.
