[HASHTAG]#732[/HASHTAG] Me and Nads were on about it last week. Had nothing but an obscure link on it. Surprised it's taken so long for the mainstream press to cotton on. The Media are slacking when I'm kicking their arse by 5 days <laugh>
Yeah I saw this last week!!! God the press are a bunch of dullards!!

The media are like sheep, the BBC are using the E'quipe story saying he's agreed a four year deal and will complete shortly.
No comments by either club or the player/agent. Just lazy journalists.

Can't see this one happening. They tried to sign him when we did originally and he chose us, so even if they did agree a fee with us for him which is unlikely, then he still might say he is not interested.

I would not sell for less than £12m lets face it he is only 30 so probably has 3 years left at the top which is the length he has left on his contract. We don't have to sell so can demand as much as we like.

Watford may be weighing up a bid, they can make us an offer and I will tell you the answer will end in off.

More likely Everton will want to do a deal McCarthy and £ for Kone.

Just seen on Twitter a link between us and Sissoko. I think all of it is a load of bollox.

Read somewhere he`s put a sick note in for tomorrow.

Filip Helander impressed at Hellas Verona last season

By talkSPORT - @talkSPORT

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Sunderland target Filip Helander admits he would fulfil 'a childhood dream' by playing in the Premier League.

The centre-back impressed at Hellas Verona last season after joining the club from Malmo 12 months ago.

Sunderland are now keen on signing the 23-year-old - especially as they sweat over the future of Everton target Lamine Kone.

And now Helander has given the Black Cats hope in their pursuit by revealing his love for the Premier League.

"It is clear that the Premier League is interesting," he told Swedish newspaper Expressen.

"For me it has always been a childhood dream. But I'll see.

"There are still a little more than two weeks left in the transfer window so a lot can still happen."

Kabouls only 30 so if he was to leave us it would have to be for at least 10m. Hes as good as Kone when hes fully fit. His injury record is still a slight worry though.

Until is on Skysports ill just keep thinking its all a load of Kabullsh!t..

David Moyes’ first few weeks as Sunderland boss have been a relatively uneventful affair thus far, but judging by this report – things could be about to get interesting for the Sunderland fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

With just two weeks to go until the Premier League transfer window slams shut, last minute deals were always going to be a big part of the summer’s conclusion – and David Moyes is seemingly keen to get in on the action.

According to The Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones, David Moyes has been in touch with his old club, Everton, and enquired regarding the availability of midfielder James McCarthy – see the tweet below.

Whilst no other details are available at this point, Moyes clearly views McCarthy as someone that could add something to his squad should he be available, though whether Koeman views the midfielder as a key part of his plans remains unclear.

McCarthy has had a mixed spell in Merseyside, often failing to consistently provide high quality performances – but that seemingly hasn’t put off David Moyes as he bids to improve his midfield for the coming season.

Everton fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are largely undecided on their feelings towards the Republic of Ireland midfielder, and whilst some feel that his time is up at Goodison Park; many believe he deserves one more shot under new manager Ronald Koeman.

Sunderland fans – we want to hear from you! Would be pleased if Moyes follows up his interest with a bid for McCarthy? Everton fans – would you be sad to see him go?

Id be more than happy.

McCarthy is a class player. I'd be over the moon if we got him.

Aye me as well. Reckon he'd cost anywhere from £10-£16m like the way this window is going.

Depends how much Koeman sees him fitting in. He played right wing back I think on Saturday.

Kirchhoff, M'Vila & McCarthy is a midfield 3 which belongs top 10 IMO.

Could be that.

It`s on RTG as well. They`re on about Britt Assombalonga whoever that is.
That's an interesting one. He smashed them in for Peterborough and made the step up to the Championship, no bother. He looks a natural finisher and Moyes has got a good eye for spotting championship players with ability to make an impact in the Premiership.

Might be something in it then. <ok>

My mate is a Forest fan, he says Assombalonga is the real deal and would do exceptionally well for us. BUT he is coming back from a long term injury. He says though in pre season the lad looked very good.
