Probably true, this DiMarzio bloke is usually right

After being one of the protagonists of the Azzurri's impressive run at the Euro, Emanuele Giaccherini is ready to start the next chapter of his career. Torino has reached an agreement with Sunderland for around €2 million, now the granata are waiting for the player's decisions. There is optimism a deal will be reached after Torino offered the midfielder a three year deal with annual salary of €1.3 million net of taxes plus bonuses. The ball is now in Giaccherini's court- Torino is waiting for his answer.
Who can we get for €2M? <doh>

Whats that, around £1,500,000? Not an international midfielder who had a good Euro tournament!

I know it's early days, but the Rangers fans did warn us that Martin Bain let several of their top players leave for well under valuation.

Not judging him, before somebody says anything. It's just an early observation and something I'll be watching with him.

Yeah I heard that too. But Giaccherini, as good as I think he is, isn't a top player of ours. Hes played on loan more for others than us. Also last year of his contract which drives value down.

He's also on around 35k a week I think. Big lump of cash for wages

Valdez was never much more than a 'decent' keeper.

Good signing for a newly promoted club but doesn't wow anyone I don't think.

I would have definitely put him in the 'good but not quite great' category at his peak, very agile shot stopper but a bit error prone and not great at imposing himself physically which will likely be a problem in this league.

One of the best shot stoppers and had decent distribution, but poor at catching and commanding the back four. IMOOC.

Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Sunderland have contacted the agent of Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar to sound out a possible deal.

The Black Cats may have seen Jermain Defoe score 15 goals in the Premier League last season, but it's clear that Sunderland still need to bring in more attacking firepower to help him.

Sky Sports recently reportedthat manager Sam Allardyce had made a bid of £11m for West Ham striker Diafra Sakho, in a bid to reunite with the man he managed at Upton Park during the 2014/15 season.

Now, Tutto Mercato Web suggest that Sunderland are keen on another Senegalese striker, with Fiorentina's Khouma Babacar the target this time - and the Black Cats have spoken to his agent about a possible move to Wearside this summer.

Babacar, 23, has been on the books at Fiorentina since signing from Pescara in 2008, and hit seven goals for the Florence-based side in all competitions last season

We are about to sell both Tyler Blackett and Guilhermo Varela, I reckon they could both be picked up for a combined fee of £3m.

Given the track record of players we release going on to be solid players at this level, and given Sam's frustrations in the market, I'd say Varela would be a great option for you lot now instead of Yedlin.

Blackett could be decent also but he's really got a lot of work to do, so he'll probably end up in a lower league first.

I like varela, very tidy on ball. Was surprised to see he'd been culled.
