What really pisses me off is Martin is hailed as a man that can lead by example and galvanise the club and we are offloading our best performing player over the last 5 years Howson.
I am sick to death of watching Martin come out after yet another embarrassing defensive didplay banging on about , "working hard in training" "learning from this " "stand up and be counted" "not letting the fans down again" etc etc...
He was a big part of our downward spiral and a clean slate with a new centre back and captain preferably Howson is what was needed years ago.

I completely agree DD and I'm sure we're not alone in hoping that Martin would be history in yellow and green and now I'm even more glad that I've given up my ST.
A 2 year extension with a 3rd year option ?
Absolutely bizarre sentimentality shown towards him yet we sell our future and current talent for peanuts.
Apparently we are about to complete a season long loan deal for Saints midfielder Harrison Reed. Who he? I imagine Vrancic wil replace Dorrans and Reed replace Howson.
Loan deals sometimes work if the team is doing well like Lansbury or abject failure like Bentley and Harry Kane.

I say last night or this morning about lack of holding midfielders, and today we get one! And what a one! This lad will be class in the future. Not sure on his level now, Probably a good fit for Championship football at the moment. He's a DCM/CM works his socks off. He's only a little lad, but I've heard a lot of good things about him. He's a future player Southampton are looking to bring into their first team (as per).
He's got some Premiership minutes under his belt with Saints. This could be an exciting signing. He will be box to box or hold. But should chase and hassle opposition. Should add a bit of fight and workrate to the centre of midfield.

Could be a good signing this - just spoke to a Saints fan who I work with and he really rates Reed - hard working, has a bit about him and good on the ball - a star of the future he says.
I wonder if Redders put in a good word for the club ?
According to the video I posted, he did talk to Redder and he sold it too him, as did seeing the place and talking to the manager.
Apparently according to a youtube video he is supposed to be the next Paul Scholes
Just hope he doesn't get as many red cards as he did but scores as many goals as he did.
