Transfer Rumours Summer Recruitment Thread

I reserve judgement on Marquis, he failed to score in the two televised games he featured in back end of the season, missing the crucial penalty in the semi final shoot out against Charlton. Anyone can have an off day of course, but he showed little in the way of skill, in either game tbh. Maybe arrange a swap deal, could be good for both players and clubs.
What puts me off is he has had one good season and is 27, just think we need better, as someone said, he's no better than what we have.

If you're basing it on goals and assists vs games played, Tom Eaves is better than both of them. For the record, Grigg's stats are very similar but bearing in mind he's played more games than any of them. Identifying a player that's going to fit into our team, work well with the players we've got/will have, and can play in the system Ross wants to use, is more important than what they've done in the past in my opinion.

I think, having seen him twice v us and twice in playoffs, he’s exactly what we need.

He’s got the target man qualities, but he carries the ball, his movement is better as he comes deep, and he’s more instinctive.

I’m all for it, based solely on last season, what I’ve seen, and the fact he’s apparently desperate to come and Wear the shirt.

Its a no brainer that one,( no offence intended), as he realy looks the part for me, shame we went for Grigg as it turned out, cost us dearly that one.

Donald says we need 6/8 new signings which sounds about right, there are holes all over the squad.
Sounds promising, and while what you are saying is spot on, three or four astute signings could transform us into a very good bet for automatic promotion, which should be the aim, this is, I suppose the real measure of the progress we made last season.

Yeah I'd rather we signed quality over quantity as long as the crucial positions are filled, and have our young lads fill the rest as long as they're up to it obviously.

Either way good to know that him and Ross aren't deluded about needing more than one or two in.

Watmore will be like a new signing if he hopefully stays clear of injury, be nice to see him to get a good run in the team.

I'm fairly satisfied with that. His past record is not the best.
We need someone like him, but better. His own fans were indifferent at best about him leaving.
One good season in the Isthmian League Premier Division and one half decent season for Plymouth. Doesn't have the history to warrant us bringing him in but it's more important that he can operate in a Jack Ross team than what he's done before.

Come on lads, we'll get some good ones through the door.

I'm pretty much certainly going to the Tranmere game in January though I'll be sat in the Tranmere end (a handful of mates are season ticket holders and a bunch of others fancy coming along for the game). Hopefully being cheering the promotion push by that point.

I'm here for some positivity now!
