here is another freebie, who although tries, I don't think he is anywhere near good enough for our squad. Can we please be linked to someone who is actually better than what we have. http://news.ladbrokes.com/football/...d-the-chase-to-sign-readings-star-winger.html
You have to be kidding. In a team that is abysmal at scoring goals, when was the last time Allen scored 10 in a season? Ayew needs to be more of a team player imo but nearly all his goals he fashioned for himself out of nothing. Allen simply can't do that. I'm not saying don't take Allen but not a straight swop because he simply isn't a goal scorer and it looks like we're going to need more than one next season.
Take a straight swop and then use other funds to buy a top class striker. It was telling imo that the players weren't rushing over to congratulate Ayew when he scored. Even his celebrations were selfish.
I wonder how many goals Ayew would score if he played as our no.9, all the problems we have had coring goals and they haven't really tried him there, after Saturday I hope he is there again for the weekend.
Would you pay it? http://www.footballtransfertavern.c...ransferTavern (The Transfer Tavern Home Page) I wonder how much hey still owe us.
I don't think we should offload a player who has scored goals for a player that hasn't and doesn't, though I'm not necessarily against an Allen return. I don't think a straight swop is being mooted anyway is it? But using other funds to buy a striker is something that should happen anyway. The manner of celebrations, "selfish" or not is completely irrelevant. I get frustrated with Ayew's selfishness at times too and he often looks like he can't be bothered, but how many other players have been exactly the same this season? But for me, the bottom line is that we know Ayew has goals in him and often makes them out of nothing. That's a rare commodity at this level and one we'd be foolish to lose without some serious thought first as to how he's replaced.
List f free transfers available at the end of the season. I see Tom Carrol is in there. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...emier-league-free-7892542?ICID=FB_mirror_main
Super defenders have their place and yes we need some but they don't score goals and this team has few goals in it, unfortunately. Super strikers do and yes that's on our shopping list as well but trading one for Ayew makes no sense to me as we know for a fact that he has goals in him. He's also a little more versatile. I'm not sure where this trade idea has come from to be honest but if we lose Ayew then fine, but that's 10 goals we need to find next season before we start. If we lose Siggy, it's even worse. I'll be disappointed to lose Ayew but if it is a direct swap (there's no evidence of that being the case right now) then we have to get someone in who is proven to score goals at this level. I can't see that happening. Now, if we get a decent striker and still have Ayew and Siggy on the pitch I'd be very happy indeed. Paloschi is OK and a busy little player - a good backup maybe - but I'm not convinced he's ever going to be prolific.
Ayew is a super duper, be it square player, and we are a round team . He doesn't play well as a winger within our structure but would elsewhere .I don't really want to fit him into someone else's position to play him for the sake of him being a very good player and having to change . To me , he is a stepping stone to gathering others , as well as we are a stepping stone to him . If not for the 2 goals against Liverpool , Ayew hasn't scored much for awhile , and while he didn't we crawled out of a relegation battle with others scoring . Just because Ayew leaves , doesn't mean goals won't be scored , Siggy got a bunch since Guido' and Paloschi's arrival , when Ayew's dried up .
But that's my point. If Ayew leaves we'd better be certain a 10 plus goal scorer comes in. We can't rely on Siggy to score those extra 10.
That's the point , while Siggy is scoring those goals , Ayew hasn't been . And since Siggy has been scoring , we have been doing better in the standings than when Ayew was scoring . When Ayew stopped scoring , we didn't and we did better ...it's a fact jack . Ayew is a great player who holds a lot of value , and ambition I assume . We may have no choice and he trips a clause and goes on his own , we might only control what we get .
Ah....sorry. I get it. When a player stops scoring we do better because another player starts scoring. OK.
That won't work. Say we buy Bony, where does Ayew fit because he's not a winger and not as good as Siggy?
In way , ya . The team is playing better when Siggy scores than when Ayew was scoring .Gomis and Ayew scored 7 goals in the first 4 Premier league games ... Not as good after .almost all Siggy's goals have come since Guido took over and we climbed out of a relegation heap .I'm not saying Guido is responable for Siggy's good form , only that that is the time frame . we were in a relegation battle till Siggy stared scoring and we climbed out pretty quick .
Ayew is just another in a team full of one game wonders.....Get rid of these type of players as you wont get far with the likes of them. I am sticking with one big clear out and recruiting younger, taller hungry skillful players.....Start as we should with the new manager made official on the last day of the season and start building the new team from day one.
I agree. As soon as the season finishes, Rodgers, Guidolin or whoever it may be needs to be publicly confirmed so that the rebuild can begin. Tbh, I think everything is already in place and would like to think the new boss has already began player scouting etc.
