Be interesting to see how motormouth and his boss explain this one away.

I wasn't Oscars biggest fan but I don't believe for one minute Rosenior wanted to leave the window with only Delap and Connoly as recognised strikers.

So, he is either gonna pretend this was part of the plan and let us all know that it's simply down to Oscar not 'suiting our style of play' or 'needing more experience' elsewhere or he is going to have to come out and tell the truth which is 'I wanted rid and thought we had someone else lined up but as with last season whoever does out transfers talks too early and messed the whole thing up leaving me without a player'.

If what we signed is Roseniors number 1 targets in each position then I'm even more sceptical about his ability.

People keep pointing out what a great window this has been. I would suggest that we've ended up with massive downgrades on all players we were originally looking at and a £5m punt on a kid that could well be a decent player but has to prove himself yet.

I don't know for sure other than the GK of course but on that one example alone we have gone from chasing one of the best reserve keepers in the Prem to ending up with one that a rival club doesn't want anymore with a reputation from thats clubs fans as been ****.

Are we really to believe that when talkalot and Acun were sat having a meal at the end of last season a list was produced and he said 'listen boss, call me a fool if you want but I am getting us top 6 and these are the boys who are going to do it'.

The media team can do what they want to try and pretend it's exciting. Signing those players after all the talk of 'blow your socks off signgings' is poor. And part of me thinks the showman was just at it again. He didn't need to rope in his mate from Botanic though. He has left that guy with zero credibility now :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Do you reckon there's a single manager out there who would come out that bluntly? Perhaps don't pretend it's just Rosenior who would spin a transfer window in the positive.

Despite the late flurry of activity, I can't help but feel less optimistic about our prospects for the season than I did this time yesterday. Just think letting a goal poacher go without replacing him will come back to bite us. We have to my mind only one 'traditional ' number 9 who might win a header in a team whose coach seems to want to play wingers. Be interesting if Delap goes off with a hamstring injury today.
Exactly.
He finally gets the wingers .... then let's Oscar go without replacing him.
As said several times, I still really don't know how Rosenior intends setting us up and what this 'unique' playing style is
Maybe here's a clue ..... https://www.mancity.com/players/mens . Only 2 strikers?

I think Sandat might be better than we all realise.
I've seen Sandat mentioned a few times. Am I missing something?

What are people seeing in an 18yo who has played 12 matches for Southend? He is most likely 2 years away from the first team.

Harry Wood seems to be a more informed option when he returns in November, but replacing Oscar? Naaah.

We needed another striker and we didn't try hard enough to get one for some unfathomable reason. The rest of the squad has adequate cover, but this seems a huge ommission to me, especially given our previous injury history squadwise.

Edit: Wasn't up to date with posts. I'm clearly not the only one

Jesus. I suspect a lot of people might be like me, a bit concerned that Oscar's gone without an obvious replacement, but willing to countenance the possibility that the people who run the club might know more about football than I do. I know it's a crazy idea, and it would be better to take the attitude that if the manager takes any decision that you don't agree with then he must be an idiot not to listen to you, but there you go, that's my feeble take on things.

I know I would be a lot happier if I joined you outside Rosenior's house, screaming through the letter box at midnight 'WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME ANY MORE???'

Feeble take from a feeble-minded individual as per.

100% but we haven’t had permission off the hierarchy to be negative yet. Also don’t forget Rosie knows better

So have we signed anyone, page one not updated and can’t be arsed to troll through all the banter

I’m non the wiser myself, out all day and evening yesterday, popped on periodically to try to find snippets of information, with no luck. Page one not being updated is tardy to say the least… unless we’ve sold OLM too!

The people who defend Rosenior as much as they do on here would’ve turned on him already were it not for the fact he was a popular player for us. Derby’s interim manager for a few months who got binned off for Paul Warne never would’ve got the job in the first place at City if he had no prior connection to the club.

It’s the Solskjær Effect.

Yeah, we should at least be top by now.

The irony being that Solskjær was probably United's most successful recent manager and was sacked purely because people rubbished his qualifications for having the job.

Harry is not a number 9

No he wasn’t, Mourinho was the most successful in recent years. Solskjær hasn’t had a job in coaching or management since. I wonder why.

"We signed Henry Sandat, he's someone who is a development signing, but if he's good enough, he can come in the team. We are looking to develop the whole club, not just the first team."

This quote from Rosenior suggests that he thinks Sandat has a chance this season. Vaughan was a similar type of signing and he's looked alright.
