The only obvious drawback is, we're light in that area. One injury and he's in the starting 11. Obviously Morton will drop him down a place but still, he's only two midfield injuries away and that will surely happen at some point. But like someone else said, I suppose he won't developed sat on our bench waiting for the injuries so it's a case of prioritising his development in the long term over our short term squad depth.

I would imagine we could recall in January if need be. We also have Docherty back from injury soon.

Yeah I get that, but Tufan can also play there - as can Jones if need be. Is Doc out for the season?

I think its a risk worth taking.

Because Simons had one good game against Fulham in the cup some love him . He’s looked tidy like Woods did , ‘safe’ but not strong enough maybe that’s why he’s been loaned out to toughen up and strengthen . LR or his recruitment team expected him to push on and he hasn’t . Loads of players get discarded every season based on coaching staff and managers judgement - Cairney for one - look where he went and how he changed.

Think Doc should be back quite soon. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Bird join in January
