Recognised by who? His tackling stats last season were 1.07 tackles won per 90 minutes, not even as good as Harry Vaughan (1.11).
I don't think Simons has played all that badly when given the chance he seems to have been **** on by the club.

Where as Morton completed 61 successful tackles in 40 appearances.
That's better than 1.5 per 90 mins considering he averaged 76 minutes over each of those 40 appearances. (edit 1.98 successful tackles per 90 according to footystats)
Seri was 1.46 which still blows Simons out of the water.

If Vaughan goes out too has he been shat on by the club, or Fleming?
Or is it just sending kids out on loan to get them a bit more experience?
He's played less than 8 senior games worth of minutes in his career. I don't understand the hand wringing. He's not a top half championship starter by any stretch. Not to say he can't be. But he ain't there yet, but as a 'ball winner' I'd expect his successful tackles to be better than Seri, Vaughan, Morton et al but he's nowhere near.

And if someone does post bollocks that the stats completely rebuff ( like who is a ball winner, who had the best defensive record outside the promoted clubs under the current managers tenure and whether he's had us 10th on form in his 28 games last season) then why the hell shouldn't we use them?
