It might just be that announcing new signings might jeopardise the subsequent sale of the necessary outgoings, like Allahyar, Longman, Oscar etc. So close to the end of the window it must all get a bit tense with some clubs looking to get bargains and others trying to maximise sale prices. Think playing chicken at Silverstone on GP day.

Not sure he's an obvious No1 choice compared to Ingram as I'm sure some were expecting, but time will tell if he's up to providing decent competition or not.
