I said before the season started that five points from August would represent a decent start; Blackburn just missed out on top 6 last season, Norwich had a false position last season through crap management, Brizzle were similar to us (so a draw is understandable) and I figured Sheff Wednesday would put up more of a fight than they did. Quite a tough September, Leicester will be tricky too and I think they’ll have too much for us, much as I don’t want to say it I think it’ll be a humbling. This followed by games against the likes of Coventry, Leeds and Stoke means that the game against Plymouth is the most likely 3 points.

So to be where we are, with an incomplete transfer window is a great start and we aren’t there by luck.

Disagree, Leicester have had a deceptively poor start in the same way some are arguing we've had a deceptively good start. They've clawed out some results late but in general play have looked poor. I have a good mate who's a Leicester supporter who doesn't think they're playing particularly well. It does mean when it clicks they could blow a side away but I think it's a good time to get them.

I would like to see Simons get given a run wide right. Think he has all the attributes to be a big success there under Rosey.
Teteh would have made a fine central defender in my opinion.
Rosie is a fan of playing square pegs in round holes so im surprised he didnt give that one a go. I guess we’ll never know now what a stroke of genius that suggestion would have been.

Yeah that I agree with just can't rely on Delap alone as the hold up man

He needs to go as you can't have one of the highest earners as 3rd choice striker.

I think he'll go as he's not stupid and it's not good for his future prospects or next contract being a bit part player in the Championship

Compared to last season during LRs tenure I dont think we have made any progress maybe even gone backwards despite the infux of new players. We have won two and drawn one not including the loss to Donny. On paper thats great but beneath the surface cracks are appearing. We tried to make a balls of our one convincing win against what seems is going to be one of the leagues poorest team and eventually came thru thanks to some stunning finishing by Ozan. Against Blackburn we struggled against 10 men and eventually won the game courtesy of a couple of great over the top thru balls and some skilful finishes from Connolly. But even in that game we had our backs to the wall and it took some heroic defending by I think it was Colye who prevented a certain goal by heading it off the goal line. Blackburn had other chances that they failed to take due to our poor midfield play. Against Bristol City we played well for 20 mins at the start then went of the boil and in the end were lucky to get away with a draw. Where am I going with this, well I may have conviced myself we are not getting the ball back in the middle of the park quickly enough (I am sure their is a stat for that?) so dare I say it maybe i am moving to the Kalman camp and seeing the need to someone to. grab the game by the scruff of the neck by winning the ball back quickly in midfield, which I think is called a midfield enforcer, in the mode of Rodri. Not a bruiser but someone who can win the ball back quickly and get it to a creator like Seri.
Or someone like Morton who can win it back and play the killer pass over a variety of distances.

Even if we don't get Davis, then I am pretty sure Oscar will go out on loan or be sold, just to free up wages. Whether they bring in someone else I guess depends on whether the right player is available. I wonder if there is any thought of Simms or Sandat stepping up as an option?

Interesting, I still have mates from my uni days living in Leicester and they’re fairly confident they’ll roll over us. I’m inclined to agree, but then teams like that are not going to define our season. A point would be amazing.

Apparently they've been having a lot of trouble scoring, and have been scraping over the line in games, which certainly lines up with what I saw of them against Coventry and Huddersfield.

Davis to Swansea makes sense for both him and the club, they have money after selling Piroe and he has more chance of regularly starting. However, I think I'm right in saying that the only references to him having a medical have come from fan sites not journalists, so may not be settled yet?

Leicester and Southampton will, don't think L**ds will and Everton wouldn't have either if they'd dropped which they will this year.
I’d be surprised if Leeds are not up there, now they have Gnonto back, the new 12 million striker from Swansea and Bamford plus money to add more this week. I hope I’m wrong though.
