It is a bit daft that a team in the same division as us
Can spend like £12m on a player

I wouldn’t be too bothered if we didn’t sign Davis. If we signed him and we couldn’t sell Óscar, we’re in a situation where we have four strikers who all want to start in a system where we only start with one striker and a #10 or false #9 playing off them. If we sold Óscar then fair enough but Davis probably goes straight into Swansea’s team now but has to compete with Delap, Connolly when he’s fully-fit and Óscar who may still be here.

If we’ve suddenly found leeway to spend money in line with FFP, we should probably sign a keeper like Johansson and a defensive mid permanently before a fourth striker.

I'd be more disappointed about losing out on Rak Sakyi over Davis.
Not convinced by Lokilo yet.

I know which I’d rather have with our way of playing

Funny how they don't see the need for a red / amber / green line for the stat of how many times they've put the ball in the ****ing net.

The info is there though.

Oscar 13 goals
Davis 5 goals

Oscar - A gnat's bollock off of a goal every 2 games.
Davis- A paltry one in three.

Although Davis is 9cm taller so we should definitely sign him.

Rosenior said he wants a smaller squad but at least two in every position. Three first-team strikers for the system we play is enough and allows under-21s like Sandat and Simms to make the bench if there’s injuries, suspensions etc.

If we sign 4 strikers and play 2 up top, that then means we have to sacrifice an attacking midfielder and we’re quite inundated there as well. We’ve got Traoré, Twine, Tufan, Vaughan, Covil who can play as a #10 or false #9 off a lone striker. Some of those can also play wide but we’re about to sign Philogene, potentially another winger and we already have Lokilo and even Longman and Allahyar are still here.

I think Rosenior is right in having a smaller squad but players who are comfortable playing in multiple positions as they can slot in if someone can’t play for whatever reason. Twine and Traoré can play as a #10 or wide and Tufan can play as a #10 or box-to-box. When you’re spending £5 million on a proper winger, it means one of them doesn’t start. If you sign a fourth striker, it means three are on the bench or you play two up top and two of Twine, Tufan and Traoré don’t start.

I think Philogene, a keeper and another defensive mid is enough for this window. If Óscar goes we should sign another forward but if we can’t, we still have Delap, Connolly and even Allahyar who can play there.

Except the stats for Oscar were not last year in the Championship and actually in Portugal which is the year everyone keeps wanting to point to. Watch him closely and you will see why. Touch like Dave Bamber.

I'm assuming Vaughan, Covil, Simons, and Longman will be sent out on loan especially if another winger and midfielder are inbound.
Doc and Sinik won't be back in training before the window shuts so we'll be stuck with them until at least January.

Well spotted.

Cynicism and apathy resulted in me not noticing the little League badge in the top right hand corner.

But it does just undermine the whole enterprise even further.

Stats from different standards of League. I guess they're weighted with a coefficient of relative difficulty dreamt up by a twelve year old though.

Oscar can't trap a bag of cement and Davis is three inches taller.

So it's obvious who's the better bet.
