Seems to be the hold up player and 7 in 34 isn’t too bad a return for that kind of player at all.

If he’d bagged many more he’d be going on a big money move to a premier league side.

Luton apparently wanted him earlier in the window but were given a £7m asking price according to reports. How much truth is in that, no idea.

Edit: it was actually 7 in 34. 2 assist also.

14 goals and 8 assists in 88 champiomship games isn't too bad for a battering ram/hold up man.

We do seem to be playing with 2 strikers, that’s been a thing well back into last season and still continuing despite having plenty of options to set up in pretty much any other system. So having 4 out and out strikers isn’t actually as stacked as it might seem.

We are definitely heavy in midfield though if that’s the case. Squad feels just as bloated as it did last summer now.

There will be outgoings. If there aren't, then some might find themselves training with the 21s.

Given Rosey seems to like playing anyone anywhere, it’s difficult to put options to positions, but if we discard

Sinik
Woo
Longman
Ally
Doc

we are still left with

Oscar
Connolly
Delap
(Davis)

Lokilo
Twine
Vaughan
(Philogene)
(Another)

Traore
Tufan
Seri
Slater
Simons
(Another)

15 players for 6 places in the team if we sign all the players Acun claims. It’s still very heavy particularly when a lot of those are expensive players that will rightfully feel being a bit part squad player in a championship team is beneath them.

I doubt we will actually offload all of those in the first list either. We also have no idea what’s really going on with Sinik and in my mind he’s just as likely to return to the squad as move on anyway. I’m also not sure we’re so actively looking to offload Ally either, Rosey used him whenever he was available last season and seems to be a fan.

There's no chance Oscar will be staying around to be 4th choice striker.

It's as clear as day that LR doesn't fancy him.

They made it very clear that all the players incuding the new ones and others coming in have to be as good as each other,so injuries, suspensions, african nations are all well covered and the Team can remain as strong all season.

It's not too good either.
I get that he's a target / hold up man but
surely you'd expect your CF to score OR assist more than once every 4 games? (especially when not playing for struggling / relaxation sides)?

Minutes wise it's a little over 5000 minutes. So 20 contributions in 55-60ish games. Looks better when you put it like that.

Ask Forest whether he did enough in their promotion year or why Watford had committed to £15m buy out if they got promoted last year.

Ultimately though, its the old Heskey debate isn't it. Didn't score much but if he's worth goals for the team then I'm all for it.

Think the target is to have a 24/5 man squad all in, so you have 15 competing for the midfield and attack with Vinagre, Greaves, Macca, Jones, Smith Christie and Coyle takes us to 22. 2 keepers takes us to 24 then there's still space for the likes of Vaughan, Covil or Sandat to cover absences.

I can see the merit in sending Allahyar on loan but wouldn't be surprised from the way they're talking if Sinik sticks around and tries to prove himself a la Tufan.

Expect Doc would have gone already if not for injury.

The Samsunspor chairman claiming he agreed deals for two prem players, but we signed them instead. Wonder if he's on about the Villa lads or if we've got another prem player on the way. I can see Davis being attracted by Turkey, but can't imagine Philogene would entertain it.

Looks powerful. Villa fans seem to have him down as injury prone. Missed 2 games last season so nothing major there. Make of this what you will:
