I had a relative who lived in the Spring Bank area. He came from a family who owned a big manufacturing company in Hull making copper and steel cylinders. But he was the black sheep of the family and went to sea instead. He was on the Atlantic Convoys in WW2. He told me some cracking stories about old Hull. He was a big fella too, and once involved in a bare knuckle boxing match on West Park one Sunday morning and over 1,000 people turned up for it. He was also held in a prison in Africa on a trumped up murder charge when a ship he was on docked there. It took a diplomat to fly out from London to get him released. Also he was invovled in a dominos match in Polar Bear and the picked a cheat up and threw him through one of the windows onto the street. Despite coming from a very wealthy Hull family and traveling around the world seven times as a seaman, he finished up as a labourer at Ideal Standard and died in a council house off Park Street.

Sounds like my dad, he actually got deported from australia and escaped from lock up in cuba, he loved a tear up as well, he was also at sea.

Anthony Hopkins played Alfred Hitchcock in the 2012 movie 'Hitchcock'. Anthony Hopkins also played Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, with the character being based on Alfredo Balli Trevino...

The long-winded way of guessing it's Hannibal from Man Utd. I'm sure Baz put that much thought into his clue.
Good effort but you've stopped just short of FACT...

Hannibal Lecter was interviewed by FBI trained Clarice Starling, played by Jodie Foster. This then leads us to Ben Foster, goalkeeper at Wrexham!!

In layman's terms, you got off the bus one stop too early...:emoticon-0103-cool:

My Grandfather was in the East Yorkshire’s during World War 1. He was gassed and taken for dead. He ended up in a mortuary with Pennies over his eyes where upon he woke up and was declared not dead. Piece about him and that adventure in the HDM a few years ago.
Now that is a fantastic story. Hope he had a good life til the end pal.

My Grandfather in 1910 was tried for Attempted Murder. He shot his girlfriend with an air rifle, she had dumped him. He hit her in the neck , she wasn't seriously injured. He got 3 years Hard labour, The Judge when passing sentence said, " Ugly ways make ugly people, 3 years Hard Labour. " I still have the newspaper cutting. When he came out he had the bloody audacity to marry the ex girlfriends sister, my Nan. You can imagine he wasn't the most popular bloke with her family.
When he was young he had such a terrible temper his nickname was Paddy, he used to fight any bugger.
He mellowed in his old age and was a great bloke to have a pint with.

Looks like King has been getting regular minutes so far in the Europa League both starting and off the bench, he's not exactly what you would regard as a big talent at this stage of his career either.

I aren’t sure if King quite fits the bill judging by how it’s been discussed, big talent to me seems like someone younger and with something to prove? Maybe? Dunno…

You’re mixing up acuns messaging.
The young English talent is Twine.
The hype around the new winger has purely come from Baz

An ex premier league forward would fit the bill as a big talent in the context of a championship team

I guess it depends how much you rate the player. I wouldn't say he's a big talent now, maybe in his prime at Bournemouth but I would be underwhelmed with the signing and I would be surprised if Baz would build signing him the way he is.

In other news, there's a hugely important (and lucrative) sponsorship on it's way that should be announced in the coming days. Dunno if it's been mentioned, been playing football (mystery signing isn't me, sorry to keep your socks on).
Is the biscuit king finally getting involved? :emoticon-0115-inlov Wonder if it’s a stadium sponsorship
